The translation is followed by 'The comparacyon of oure most Dere end Gratyovs Sou'ayne lord kyng Henry [VIII] to this Agesylayus kyng of the lacydymones'. Preceding the translation is a draft of a letter, dated 20 November 1602, from William Kenrike, clerk of the Court of the Council in the Marches, from Ludlow, to Edward L[a] Zouche, Lord President of the Council: The writer presents this volume to his lordship 'insted of other p'sents', and expresses the opinion that it is 'the verey same booke that was ffirst dedicated and p'sented'.
