Part of Tredegar Estate Records,
The settled cash accounts of H. J. Davis (1889-1903) with Lord Tredegar relating to the Herefordshire estate. AHA 3/1 also contains five rental ledger accounts relating to properties on the Herefordshire estate, 1902-03 (ff. 60, 66, 72, 78, 84). Much of AHA 2/1 comprises a day book of receipts and payments relating to the Herefordshire estate, 1903-11, and may be the cash book to straddle the gap between AHA 3/1 and 3/2.

The Tredegar estate appears to have made allotments available in a number of parishes, over and above the allotment gardens at Mendelgyf on the outskirts of Newport. The allotment leases have been arranged by parish, town, village or allotment garden: Aberbargod, Basaleg, Bedwas, Bedwellte, Caerphilly, Crosskeys, Machen, Marshfield, Belle Vue, Mendelgyf, Mynyddislwyn, Newport, Rhiwderyn, Risca, Rogerstone, Rumney, St Woolloos, Shirenewton and Wattsville.

Monmouthshire town estate collection books
Part of Tredegar Estate Records,
The Monmouthshire town estate was created as a separate department with its own audit books in 1919. For all that, the first volume in the present series (AMA 8/1) only starts in September 1925. However, this may well be the estate's first dedicated collection book, as there is no balance brought forward from a previous book. Conversely, the last volume of the present series (AMA 8/13) is clearly not the last in the series, as in 1953 a balance of £537 16s. 4d. was 'carried forward to new collection book, folio 13'. This 'new' book was probably still in use in 1956 when the estate was sold to the Eagle Star insurance company, and may well have passed to the buyers.
Monmouthshire draft letter books
Part of Tredegar Estate Records,
Drafts and copies of letters, mainly written by Henry Brown (1797-1806), Frederick Justice (1832-1862) and Colonel Frederick Justice (1862-1872). The letters relate initially to the Tredegar estate, and later to the post-1806 reorganisation Monmouthshire estate, with occasional family and social references. Henry Brown's letters were written to Sir Charles Morgan, including while Morgan was at London and Ealing. AMC 1/10-11 were in use at the same time, 1832-1847, presumably for the convenience of the agent and his clerk.

Part of Tredegar Estate Records,
Ledgers of tithe rent charge accounts. ABT 2/1-2 and 2/4-5 contain receipt accounts. The accounts in ABT 2/1 are carried forward from an 'old ledger book' (eg, fo. 19, Philip Davies, Pwllycalch, from 'O.L.B. 178'). The accounts are carried from 2/1 to 2/2 to 2/4. Most of the properties seem to have been sold during the lifetime of ABT 2/4 (1906-36). The twelve accounts in ABT 2/5 appear to have been kept separate from the main series of tithe ledger accounts; eleven were sold as of 29 Sept. 1921, and the twelfth as from 2 Feb. 1922. ABT 2/3 contains payment accounts, but has been kept in this series for convenience.
Part of Tredegar Estate Records,
Breconshire tithe receipt counterfoil books
Part of Tredegar Estate Records,
Books of counterfoils of demands for tithes, the counterfoil being ticked to denote that the tithe had been received. ABT 5/1 comprises a book of counterfoils of demands for tithes due on holdings in the parish of Ystradgynlais, 1912-15. ABT 5/2 also relates to holdings in the parish of Ystradgynlais, 1914-15. All but two of the counterfoils are dated 11 Feb. 1914, with one deleted counterfoil dated 7 June 1915, and one counterfoil dated 17 Sept. 1915. ABT 5/3 is a book of counterfoils of demands for tithes due on holdings in the parishes of St John and St Mary, 1926-28. ABT 5/4-5 are books of counterfoils of demands for tithes due on holdings in Breconshire, 1935-36 and 1936-37.
