Some four hundred and fifty-six letters and cards, 1926-1953 (mostly 1926-1927, 1945-1947, 1949-1953), from Mary Casey (Mary Penny before 1945) to her mother Lucy Penny, containing personal and family news, together with occasional enclosures such as press cuttings and textile swatches; from October 1946, when Mary and Gerard Casey settled in Kenya, the majority of the letters are air letters.
A single letter, 15 December 1953, from Gerard Casey to Lucy is also included, as is Lucy’s correspondence with White & Co., Southampton, February-March 1947, re. transporting some of her furniture to Kenya.
