Some five hundred and twenty-two letters, mostly air letters, 1954-1964, from Lucy Penny to her daughter Mary Casey, containing personal and family news, together with occasional enclosures such as photographs, press cuttings, textile swatches, pressed flowers and family letters.
The enclosed correspondence comprises letters addressed to Lucy from Littleton Powys, 22 January and 30 April 1954, Alyse Gregory, 22 April 1954, Phyllis Playter, 7 June 1954, [September 1955], Nellie G. Hounsell, 5 December 1954, 3 July and 26 September 1955, [November 1956], and Marian Powys, 13 February 1955; and letters to Mary from Nellie S. Hounsell, 22 May 1956, and Katie Powys, 9 July 1956, [July 1960] (2).

Some three hundred and forty-three letters and cards, 1922-1953 (mostly 1926, 1945-1953), from Lucy Penny to her daughter Mary Casey, containing personal and family news, together with occasional enclosures such as press cuttings, textile swatches, pressed flowers and family letters; from October 1946, when Mary and Gerard Casey settled in Kenya, the majority of the letters are air letters.
The enclosed correspondence comprises thirteen letters addressed to Lucy from Phyllis Playter, 16 October 1945 (postcard), Littleton [C.] Powys, 5 June 1950, 8 and 24 April 1953, John Cowper Powys, 20 July 1950, [13] October 1951, Willie Powys, 26 July and 4 [?August] 1950, Katie Powys, 28 October 1951, 21 August 1953, Marian Powys, 16 November 1952, 1 March 1953, and Littleton Alfred Powys, 10 February 1953; and six letters to Mary from Katie Powys, 27 March 1947, 22 October and 26 November 1949, 8 January and 16 April 1950, and Gertrude Powys, 16 April 1950. Also included are one air letter each to Mary Casey from Alyse Gregory, Nellie S. Hounsell and G. Hunt, all March-April 1949.

Manuscript, dated 3 July 1955, in the hand of Littleton C. Powys, containing reminiscences of his time as a tutor at Llandovery College, Carmarthenshire, 1901-1905.
The reminiscences were published in Llandovery School Journal, 24.4 (November 1955), 45-50, and reprinted (without the opening paragraph) in Floreat Landubriense..., compiled by R. Brinley Jones ([Llandovery], 1998), pp. 121-125. A covering letter by the donor, 28 January 1956, is also included (f. i).

A presentation copy of The Letters of Elizabeth Myers, ed. by Littleton C. Powys (London, 1951), inscribed by Powys, 8 November 1951, to Mrs [Dorothy May] Meech, his typist on this and other books, together with three letters, 1951-1955, from Powys to Mrs Meech (ff. 2-4), the first of which accompanied the book. Also included is a presentation copy of Littleton C. Powys, The Powys Family (Yeovil, 1952), inscribed by the author, October 1952, to the antiquarian Joseph Fowler, together with a letter, 26 October 1952, from Powys to Fowler (f. 1).
