Extract for Welsh poetry programme

The file comprises two typescript copies of a radio programme entitled 'Theme for poetry: poems by Welsh poets' chosen by Keidrych Rhys, and presented by Robert Speaight. It was broadcast by the BBC Home Service on 8 February 1943, and includes an extract from Part VII of In Parenthesis.

Correspondence, 1930-1978, of Rhys Davies, comprising some twenty-five letters to various correspondents (ff. 1-31), including his brother Arthur Lewis Davies, 1933-1955 (ff. 1-12), his sisters Gertie E. Davies and Gladys Davies, 1960-1978 (ff. 13-18), and his friend and patron Louise Taylor, 1975-1977 (ff. 20-30); together with some twenty-seven letters to Davies from various correspondents (ff. 32-78), including G. F. Adam, 1947 (f. 32), John Fernald, 1954 (ff. 34-37), John Gawsworth, 1946 (f. 38), James Hanley, [1950s] (f. 40), Anna Kavan, [early 1960s] (f. 44), Keidrych Rhys, 1946 (f. 47), Flora Robson, 1954 (ff. 50-53, copies), Valerie Taylor, 1955 (ff. 56-70), and his sister Peggie Williams, 1945 (ff. 74-75).

Over seventy letters, 1940-1955, to John Cowper Powys from various correspondents, including W[illiam] J[ohn] Gruffydd (1) 1942; Timothy Lewis (13) 1943-1954; Iorwerth C[yfeiliog] Peate (19) 1942-1951; Keidrych Rhys (9) 1943-1946; and Sir Ifor Williams (1) 1941. The letters relate mainly to John Cowper Powys's work, the Welsh language and culture, and personal matters.

Dylan Thomas letter to Keidrych Rhys

A letter, 5 August [1939], from Dylan Thomas, at 'The Literary Village' [i.e. Laugharne], to Keidrych Rhys, editor of the literary periodical Wales. The writer is critical of the latest issue (Wales, 1.8/9 (August 1939)), and in particular of a story by S. G. Leonard, 'A labour of love' (pp. 235-238).
There are also references to Nigel Heseltine, Lynette Roberts and Glyn Jones. The letter is apparently unpublished.
