His surname and 'Llandyfan' have been written on the negative, unfortunately his name is indistinct but appears to start with the letter 'T.'

Eight soldiers and officers of the Welsh Regiment clustered around a plaque proclaiming them "Winners of Battalion Challenge Trophy, Penally, 1908" underneath which is a certificate. A Territorial Army summer camp was held at Penally in 1908.
