Llanaelhaearn, Llanbeblig, Llanystumdwy and Penmorfa deeds,

Title deeds dated between 1515 and [c. 1700], which include a bond to William Maurice for peaceful possession of mortgaged premises in Llanaelhaearn, 1612; the release to William Maurice by Sir Henry Johnes of Abermarlais of his right and title in a house in Caernarfon, Llanbeblig, 1610; a bond by Margaret Owen for conveyance of a property in Caernarfon to be used as a house of correction [c. 1700]; mortgages and deeds of sale to Eliza ap Moris for premises in Trefan and Abercyn, Llanystumdwy, 1520-1536, abstract of a grant to Sir Robert Banastre of the crown land of Ffrithlwyd, 1607; and a deed of sale to Sir John Owen of land in Penmorfa, 1650.

Constituency correspondence and papers

The series comprises correspondence and papers, 1946-1974, relating to Goronwy O. Roberts's work as Labour Member of Parliament for Caernarfonshire. They include letters from constituents asking for assistance and advice and drawing attention to problems and difficulties in the constituency, responses from government departments and ministries, letters concerning local events and activities, letters from organisations and societies within the county, and correspondence deriving from local government matters. The constituency correspondence is especially revealing in so far as it reflects local expectations from the Labour governments, 1945-1951, and later administrations.

Papers relating to the activities of the Welsh Baptist Young Men's Society in Liverpool and District, 1878-1881; a programme of the inauguration meeting of the new building of the Liverpool Young Men's Christian Association, 1877, and a 'promises card' for December 1883; papers relating to temperance meetings in Liverpool, 1879, a circular entitled 'Cenhadaeth Ddirwestol Cylchdaith Caernarfon ... 1897'; and a handbill for a series of temperance meetings held at Denbigh, 1899.

John Jones, Llanddeiniolen, Thomas Edwards (Twm o'r Nant), ac eraill: Barddoniaeth

A volume, late 18 cent./early 19 cent., consisting of four different manuscript books bound together. Pp. 1-48 are partly (pp. 1-3) in the hand of Thomas Edwards (Twm o'r Nant, 1739-1810), the manuscript containing many unpublished works of his; pp. 49-204 consist of the poems of John Jones, schoolmaster at Llanddeiniolen, Caernarfonshire in his hand; pp. 205-370 are probably in the hand of David Jones of Caeserwyd (see pp. 325, 342), who also wrote the englyn on p. 363; pp. 371-478 are either in the hand of or written on behalf of the same David Jones (see p. 469).
