Two large files and several other individual drafts, copies and published versions of speeches, broadcasts, essays and lectures given by William George Arthur Ormsby-Gore to various colonial and international organisations, scientific bodies, educational and cultural institutions, and conferences between 1925 and 1944. The subject matter reflects both his work in colonial administration and politics, and his personal interest in fine art, galleries and museums.

An address (in Welsh) presented to the Society on the occasion of its Bicentenary in 1951 by the London Welsh Association (original copy), and one colour print of the Loyal Address presented by the Society to Her Majesty the Queen on the occasion of her Silver Jubilee, 1977.

The file includes a copy of a speech delivered by John MacGregor, the Secretary of State for Education and Science to the Professional Association of Teachers, 31 July 1990; a report entitled 'English in the Curriculum: A Reappraisal', May 1990, produced by English Advisers in Welsh local authorities, and correspondence relating to Key Stage 4 provision in Wales.

The file includes circular correspondence regarding curriculum planning; drama and the curriculum; a copy of the text of a speech made by John Major, the Prime Minister, entitled 'Education - All Our Futures', 3 July 1991.

The file includes the NCC Interim Report to the Secretary of State on Cross-curricular Issues; a copy of the speech delivered by Kenneth Clarke, Secretary of State for Education and Science, entitled Staying on in Education and Training', to the Association of Colleges for Further and Higher Education, 20 Feb. 1991, and a copy of the NCC'sReport on Monitoring the Implementaion of the National Curriculum Core Subjects: 1989-90', March 1991.

A farewell address, dated 15 September 1917, written by J. Edwal Williams, headmaster of Brynconin School, Llandissilio, Pembrokeshire, to pupils entering the County School at Narberth.
Williams's son, the poet Waldo Williams, was then twelve years of age and was possibly one of the pupils being addressed.
