Correspondence with Sir Jon Shortridge

The file comprises correspondence between Sir Jon Shortridge, Permanent Secretary at the National Assembly for Wales (while the Welsh Assembly Government and the National Assembly for Wales were one corporate body) and Sir Paul Silk as Clerk to the National Assembly for Wales along with annual reports on sir Paul between 2001 and 2007. These detail the deterioration of the relationship between them, culminating in Sir Paul's decision not to apply for the new post of Chief Executive and Clerk to the National Assembly for Wales in 2006 and return to the House of Commons.
