A Bond for £12,000 plus interest at £5% per annum originally given by William Crawshay to James Thompson, William Rawstorne and William Meyrick Esquires, but subsequently paid and cancelled. 1 October 1834.

Sends Letter 757 and intimates that he strongly advises Lewis Vaughan to enter a school in England rather than in Scotland, where he has "other objects than education". Their impotence to do more than advise Vaughan.

Agreeing with recipient that Lewis Vaughan is better off in Scotland than elsewhere especially if his intended wife is respectable; enclosing bills for which he hopes there sufficient money from the estate rents.

A(lexander) Milne, Whitehall, to William Crawshay (II), Cyfarthfa Castle, Myrthir, to announce that Mr. Vaughan Dutton threatens proceedings against the trustees for non-payment of a legacy under the will of Mr. Vaughan of Llanelay, and to urge immediate execution of the document recently sent to recipient. His wish that the loss of life at Merthyr in the recent riots will produce good results.

His solicitor's opinion that the Trustees of Lewis Vaughan's inheritance need not sign (require?) a Bond of Indemnity; a request to see recipient.

Sends for signature a document which can be safely signed without fear of future liability; gives directions as to disposal of the proceeds (of the sale of securities?); and advocates sending Lewis Vaughan the rents received from his estate.

Repeats that his solicitor does not consider they need require a Bond of Indemnity from Mr. Edwards Vaughan; and offers to attend to any legal matters that may arises through his own solicitor.

Concerning the alteration of a Trust Deed in consequence of the death of an annuitant the payment of Lewis Vaughan's accounts his desire for Vaughan to come of age and release the trustees from their obligations.

Sends for signature by recipient a Power of Attorney executed by Mr. Barnes a solicitor and comments that he will be relieved by the coming of age of their ward, who does not seem to have profited by his "schoolmaster". [Vide Letters 755, 757].

B. P. Richards and Thomas Bold, Cardiff, to William Crawshay (II), Merthyr Tidvil, to intimate their belief that no written agreement concerning a payment of £100 a year to cover all damage by rubbish heaps is in existence and that recipient tray again lease certain lands for their original term at the rents fixed by Mr. Edmunds.
