Almanack 1874

The file comprises an inventory of some hundred items, including H. Clarence Whaite's paintings and artist's materials, together with a list of pictures sent to the Baker St. Warehousing Bazaar, 18 May 1874, with their prices.

Art Union

The file consists of both manuscript and printed papers relating to the Royal Cambrian Academy Art Union ballot for pictures, 1885-1897, including circulars, advertisements, and lists of prizes and winners. The RCA Art Union was formed for the purpose of aiding the development of the fine arts in Wales by the distribution of works of art, selected from the RCA's exhibitions, by means of an annual lottery.

The file comprises printed papers accumulated by H. Clarence Whaite relating to artists' materials, 1863-1911, including details of paints, paint colours, brushes, etc., together with details of frames available and suppliers, etc.

Clarence Whaite, 1878, a biographical piece on Henry Whaite after his death in 1869, a funeral sermon for Lorimer Edward Whaite, 1871, an in memoriam poem for Jane Alice Whaite, 1906, birth and marriage registration notices, 1826 and 1844, various pieces of poetry, and press cuttings announcing the death of H. Clarence Whaite, 1912.

The file comprises printed material, 1876-1911, including copies of the regulations of the society, 1876-1904, annual reports, 1896-1911, a copy, 1880, of the duties of the keeper of the Society of Painters in Water Colours, and a copy of A Retrospect: 1804-1904.
