Voyages in South American waters,

A volume containing an account by a midshipman of his service on board H.M.S. Ranger and H.M.S. Doris on duty in South American waters, 1825-1828. Amongst the ports the ships called at were Monte Video, Buenos Ayres, Rio [de] Janeiro, and St. Catharine's, on the eastern, and Valparaiso, Talcahuano, Arica, Islay, Pisco, and Callao, on the western seaboard of South America. A visit was also made to the island of Juan Fernandez. At the reverse end of the volume are transcripts of miscellaneous late seventeenth and early eighteenth century memoranda and accounts, including tithe accounts of [the Reverend] Thomas Nepiker, rector of Bepton [co. Sussex].

A notebook containing an account, 16-22 December 1941, in diary form with interleaved carbon copy, of part of a wartime voyage from Liverpool to the Seychelles via Durban by Joseph Boumphrey (see MS 22633 above). An unbound typescript account of the same voyage, 16 December 1941 - 28 December 1942, by his wife has been tipped in between ff. 17 and 29 of the notebook (see Mewn Gwisg Nyrs. Atgofion Annie Boumphrey (Gwasg Carreg Gwalch, 1990).

Five finely bound 'folders' containing typescript and manuscript works commissioned for Celtic Connections, Opening / Oscailt, 9 March 2001. They include words by Michael Coady and music by John Metcalf, together with words by Menna Elfyn and a manuscipt score of Eifion Wyn's 'Mis y Mêl' by Brian Hughes which was commissioned by Islwyn Evans of Ysgol Gerdd Ceredigion.

Two volumes containing manuscript music, 1809-1828, one inscribed within by 'Mary Madocks, alias Williams, Vron-Iw, October 1809', and two volumes of printed music, one of which belonged to Mrs Henry Laird, inscribed within by 'Jessie Laird, 1879', and bearing the initials 'J.L.', and the other bearing the bookplate of Mrs Mevekson-Sandbach. One manuscript copy and a printed copy has 'Mrs Williams, 1822' written on their covers.
