The Final Proof project

Correspondence and papers relating to WAC's project to promote the greater understanding of prints and printmaking, 1980-1984, by commissioning eight artists, namely Ken Bryce, Anthony Davies, Ian Grainger, Harry Holland, Gareth John Jones, Alan Lumsden, John Macfarlane and Frances Woodley, to produce original prints. These prints were marketed by WAC in collaboration with a commercial publishing house, Felix Rosenstiel's Widow and Son, Ltd. The prints then formed part of a touring exhibition, together with a variety of other prints produced by artists living or working in Wales. Included are letters relating to the administration of the project, including letters from the artists and Felix Rosenstiel's Widow and Son, Ltd.

Poster/Prints Project

Correspondence relating to an initiative started by the Welsh Arts Council in 1967 aimed at bringing art to everyday life, 1967-1995. It did this by commissioning artists to produce designs to be displayed as posters throughout Wales. Included are letters relating to the administration of the project, correspondence with the commissioned artists and photographs of the posters.

Chapels in Wales exhibition

Correspondence, research material and photographs for the intended exhibition on Welsh chapels, 1976-1981, icluding surveys of chapels, providing architectural and historical information, and completed questionnaires. The exhibition was cancelled in 1981 following a recommendation by the Art Committee.

Book Design Competition for Children's Books

Correspondence relating to the open competition for the design and illustration of three children's books in Welsh, 1972. The competition was the first competition for book design and illustration to be arranged by the National Eisteddfod of Wales. It was organised by the Welsh Arts Council with the cooperation of the Welsh Joint Education Committee.

Earth, Air and Water competition
