Statistical information produced by, or collected by, the Monmouthshire and South Wales Coal Owners Association relating to all aspects of the coal trade, both within the United Kingdom and in other countries across the world. Material comprises bound volumes of tabulated information regarding the UK and international coal industries, international trade, wage rates for miners, colliery price lists, annual summaries of Association members, revisions of Assurances, and statistics on the coal trade of foreign countries.

Stephen William Williams,

Stephen William Williams (1837-99) was born in Lower Mellington, Churchstoke, co. Mont. He married Maria Williams of Rhaeadr, 11 Sept. 1862, in Liverpool Parish Church. He was an archaeologist, antiquary, numismatist and territorial soldier. He was the County Surveyor for Radnorshire, 1862-1899. He died (while High Sheriff of Radnorshire) at Sandown, Isle of Wight on 11 Dec. 1899 and was buried in Rhaeadr churchyard. He had no children. For Stephen William Williams, see: R. W. D. Fenn & J. Stevenson-Longford Family Papers

The unit consists of letters and papers relating to various members of the Stevenson family, including Frances's sister Muriel, 1923-1962, and her brother Paul, 1910-1915, together with research notes and materials assembled by Ruth Longford.
