Nanteos estate rentals,

(I) Abbey estate relating to property in the parishes of Caron, Gwnnws, Lledrod, Llanrhystud, Llansanffraid, Llanbadarn Odwyn, Silian and Llambedr (Lampeter) in Cardiganshire, Carmarthen town and, after 1780, Llanboidy and Lacharn (Laugharne) in Carmarthenshire, and for 1771 the parish of Robeston Wathen in Pembrokeshire is entered, but no payment is recorded.<br>. (Ii) Nanteos estate relating to property in the parishes of Llanbadarn Fawr, Llanfihangel-y-Creuddyn, Llanfihangel Genau'r-glyn, Llanilar, Llanychaearn, Llansanffraid, Llangybi, Betws [Bledrws], Llanfair [Clydogau], Llanddewibrefi, Llangeitho, Llanbadarn Odwyn and Caron in Cardiganshire, and Llangurig in Montgomeryshire (after 1793 Llanidloes and Llanbryn-mair).<br>. (Iii) Aberystwyth estate relating to property in the town of Aberystwyth. Trefechan, Dinas and Plas-crug demesne.<br>. (Iv) Breconshire estate from 1776 onwards, the parishes of Llanddewi Abergwesyn and Llanfihangel Abergwesyn (but Llanddewi Abergwesyn only after 1789) and no Breconshire property at all after 1882.<br>. The volumes of rentals R33-41 contain also disbursements and other accounts, such as, abstracts of the rentrolls, rentrolls of the Aberystwyth corn tolls, casual profits and analyses of the ores raised at the mines of Cwmystwyth, Ystumtuen Fach, Old Ystumtuen and Bwlch-gwyn and sold by Thomas Bonsall, together with abstracts of the Llanbryn-mair estates.<br>. From R57 on the rentals are divided into 2 groups as follows:<br>. 1 Parishes of Llangeitho, Llanfair Clydogau, Llangybi, Llanddewibrefi, Betws Bledrws, Caron, Gwnnws, Lledrod, Llanbadarn Odwyn, Silian, Lampeter in Cardiganshire, Laugharne in Carmarthenshire, and Llanddewi Abergwesyn in Breconshire.<br>. 2 Parish of Llanbadarn Fawr, including the town and liberties of Aberystwyth, Llanychaearn, Llanfihangel-y-Creuddyn, Llanilar, and, after 1831, Llangynfelin in Cardiganshire, Llangurig in Montgomeryshire.<br>. The rent books continue to be labelled the Nanteos, the Abbey and Tregaron estates until 1854 when the whole estate was referred to as the Nanteos estate, and from R113 on, that is 1854 (Michaelmas), Llanbadarn Fawr, Llanfihangel-y-Creuddyn, Llanychaearn and the town and liberties of Aberystwyth are the parishes named. (New Group 2).<br>. Arranged in chronological order, with the exception of a small number of rentals, summaries, chief and fee farm rents, and memoranda, 1756-1934 (R282-292).

North estate correspondence,

Letters relating to the estates of the North family in which John, marquis of Bute, had a life interest by virtue of his first wife, Maria, daughter and co-heiress of George North, earl of Guilford. Her share of her father's property comprised the 2,945 acre Kirtling estate in Cambridgeshire and the 350 acre Harlow estate in Essex. Maria died childless in 1841, and the estates reverted to the North family on the death of the Marquis of Bute in 1848.
