[Pink & white hollyhocks in flower]

On page 155 of 'A Wider Sky' (Gomer, 1991) KW talks of his stay at the hotel owned by Senor Emilo Bezuanartea in Puerto Madryn. He mentions 'a garden of roses and hollyhocks' at the hotel. This photograph was probably taken there. Similar to slide 4690/45.

[Garden with hollyhocks]

A garden with a bed of hollyhocks and outbuildings beyond.

[Statue of a Tehuelche Indian, Puerto Madryn]

A bronze figure of a Tehuelche hunter atop a plinth of stones. A man and a girl are posing at the base of the photograph. KW records ('A Wider Sky' (Gomer, 1991) p155) that when he visited Puerto Madryn he stayed with a Senor Emilio Bezuanartea who had three blonde haired daughters. This may be him with one of his daughters posing at the foot of the statue.

[Christmas day barbecue]

Guests eating outdoors at a barbecue. This would appear to be the barbecue (or essado) mentioned by KW on p 182 of 'A Wider Sky' (Gomer, 1991). This took place at the residence of Don Diego Neill, Intendente of Los Alerces National Park on Christmas Day 1968.

[Mountain sunset IV]

Mountains silhouetted against the sky. Above the mountains are clouds tinged with yellows and blues. See also slides 4690/67-69, 4690/71.

[Farmer on horseback II]

A middle aged farmer astride a dark bay horse. On the ground nearby is a sheepdog. Behind them is a wooden shed. See 4690/83 for another slide of the same farmer.

[Autumn Colours, Crib Goch]

Crib Goch against the skyline with vegetation in the foreground picked out in autumnal colours. The painting has been photographed on an easel with a Kodak Colour Control Patch visible in the bottom of the frame.

[Crib Goch]

Crib Goch in distance, much of the foreground black / very dark colours.

[Path below Crib Goch]

A farmer and his dog walking down a path with Crib Goch in the far distance behind them. The painting has been photographed on an easel with a Kodak Colour Control Patch visible in the top of the frame.
