A bound volume labelled 'Eisteddfod Proceddings', compiled by William Jenkins Rees (1772-1855), rector of Cascob, Radnorshire, and consisting largely of printed notices addressed to him by Cambrian Societies in Wales and in London. The contents include a notice of an eisteddfod under the auspices of the Gwyneddigion Society at Caerwys, 1798, together with Gosodaethau a Rheolau Cymdeithas y Gwyneddigion and other material relating to the Society; a draft consitution of the Cambrian Society in the hand of W. J. Rees [1818]; resolutions and accounts of the Cambrian Society in Dyfed, 1818-20 and undated; programmes of concerts at the Town Hall, Carmarthen, by the Royal Bath Harmonic Society, 1819-20; a programme of an eisteddfod to be held at Carmarthen in 1823, together with manuscript addresses delivered by Thomas Price ('Carnhuanawc') and [Daniel Evans ('Daniel Ddu o Geredigion'); resolutions of the Cambrian Society in Gwent, 1821-2; material relating to eisteddfodau and concerts held at Brecon, 1822 and 1826; resolutions of the Cymmrodorion Society in Powys, 1819-24; announcements of eisteddfodau to be held at Wrexham, 1820, and Welshpool, 1824; a holograph letter from Walter Davies ('Gwallter Mechain') to W. J. Rees, 1824; records of the Welshpool eisteddfod of 1824, including adjudications by Rowland Williams [Ysceifiog] and [John Jenkins ('Ifor Ceri')], an address by ['Gwallter Mechain], and 'englynion' to Powis Castle by R. D[avies] ('Bardd Nantglyn'); resolutions and proceedings, etc. of the Cymmrodorion Society in London or the Metropolitan Cambrian Institution, 1820-8, a copy of a letter from J. Parry ('Bardd Alaw') to J. Jenkins ('Ifor Ceri'), 1820 (enclosing a letter from Wm. Owen Pughe to Mr. Parry), a copy of a letter to Sir W. W. Wynn, 1820, a holograph letter from John Parry to [W. J. Rees], 1820, a copy of the resolution of the Society admitting W. J. Rees to honourary membership, 1820, and two holograph letters from the Society to W. J. Rees, 1821-2; order of proceedings of the sixth anniversary of the Carmarthen Cymreigyddion Society, 1828; a programme of a concert held in the nave of Bangor Cathedral, principally by the Bath Harmonic Society, 1821; a programme of a concert at St. Mary's Church [Brecon], 1822; etc.

A composite volume compiled by Owen Williams, Fronheulog, Waunfawr in 1857. It comprises: I. 'Y Gronfa' (pp. 1-200), largely in the hand of David Thomas ('Dafydd Ddu Eryri'), containing an introduction ('Y Rhagymadrodd') signed 4 October 1790; an English translation by D[avid] T[homas] of two lines of poetry by Gwalchmai; 'Cyfieithiad o Awdl Sibli (Sibyl's Ode, translated by the Revd. Gor[onwy] Owen)' ('See the above, versified in D. Thomas's poetical collection'); etymons of Mr Jones of Llanegryn, Mr L. Morris, and D. Tho[ma]s; extracts from letters from the Revd. The compiler has included a few cover papers from manuscripts of 'Dafydd Ddu Eryri' bearing such inscriptions as 'This Morrisian MS (with some others) I found at a Farmhouse called Braint near Penmynydd, Anglesey, Sept. 9th 1793. Iv. A transcript of Cofrestr o'r holl Lyfrau Printiedig ... (Llundain, 1717) (pp. 287-452). Inset are three leaves containing transcripts of a letter from Edmund Francis to [ ] (the writer's health, the recipient's preaching engagement) (incomplete) and of a letter from D. Thomas ['Dafydd Ddu Eryri'] to [John Roberts, 'Siôn Lleyn'], 1810 (the sale of the writer's [Corph y Gaingc]). Written on the inside lower cover is a long note by O[wen] Williams, Fronheulog, Waunfawr, 1857, of which the following is an extract, - 'Myfi a gesglais gynhwysedd y llyfr hwn o'r hen ysgrifiau a ddaeth i'm dwylaw oeddynt eiddo Dafydd Ddu Eryri ac a delais am eu rhwymo yn nghyd megys y gwelir yma er's llawer o flynyddoedd yn ol ...'.

Unbound papers containing the resolutions of the committee of the Cymmrodorion Society in Powys, held at Meifod, 17 May 1820, and a prospectus of the eisteddfod, under the patronage of the Society, to be held at Wrexham, 13-14 September 1820 (with an earlier draft which gives the date of the eisteddfod as 2-3 August 1820); a report (2 versions) of the proceedings of the eisteddfod held at Brecon, 25-26 September 1822, under the patronage of the Cambrian Society of Gwent ('y Gymdeithas Gymroaidd yn Ngwent'); adjudications on literary compositions (essays and poetry) submitted to the Powys eisteddfod held at Welshpool, 7-9 September 1824; a translation (draft) into Welsh of a circular sent out by the Society for the Abolition of Slavery, 1824, suggesting a pattern for petitions to Parliament relating to the abolition of slavery in the British colonies; a list of subscribers towards the education of John Blackwell of Mold, Flintshire, 1824; a letter (draft), c. 1822, addressed to 'Mr Gomer' (the discussion relating to Welsh poetry published in Seren Gomer, etc.). Many of the papers are drafts and some were prepared for publication in Y Gwyliedydd.
