A typescript copy of a thesis entitled 'A Review and Revision of the Biography of John Jones, Talsarn, By Owen Thomas', submitted by D. E. Jenkins for the degree of M.A., of the University of Liverpool, 1924. The biographical work which is analysed in this thesis is Owen Thomas: Cofiant y Parchedig John Jones, Talsarn, mewn Cysylltiad â Hanes Duwinyddiaeth a Phregethu Cymru (Wrexham [1874]).

A composite volume almost entirely in the hand of John Jones (1796-1857), Calvinistic Methodist minister, of Tal-sarn, Caernarvonshire, containing notes of sermons and (?)addresses and some extracts from printed religious works e.g. William Rees ('Gwilym Hiraethog'): Traethawd ar Grefydd Naturiol a Datguddiedig ... (Dinbych, 1841). One sermon is written partly on the dorse of a statement of account due from John Jones to Richard Jones [blacksmith], 1831.

Notes of sermons preached by North Wales Calvinistic Methodist ministers, including John Elias, Henry Rees, John Jones (Llanllyfni) and others; an account book of John Williams, carrier and ferryman, 1866; diaries of Hugh Williams, 1859-1860 and 1862.

An incomplete, draft copy (typescript with manuscript emendations) of a thesis entitled 'A Review and Revision of the Biography of John Jones, Talsarn, by Owen Thomas', submitted by D. E. Typescript and printed material relating to the Reverend John Jones [Calvinistic Methodist minister] of Tal-y-sarn [co. Caernarvon], and his family. The typescript items include two copies of the reminiscences (35 pp.) of Mrs. Fanny Jones, daughter of the Reverend John Jones, which, under the title 'Adgofion Mebyd yn Nhal y Sarn', had been published as a series of weekly articles in Y Dinesydd Cymreig, 15 Awst - 7 Tachwedd 1917; two incomplete copies of a biographical essay (30 pp.) on Mrs. Fanny Jones, wife of the Reverend John Jones, by 'Adgof Uwch Anghof', which likewise, under the title 'Bywyd, Cymeriad, a Dylanwad Mrs. Fanny Jones, Tal y Sarn', had been published as a series of weekly articles in the same paper, 14 Tachwedd 1917-13 Mawrth 1918; extracts from Hugh Hughes ('Tegai'): Cofiant John Jones, Talsarn [(Pwllheli, 1858)], typed on the dorse of printed copies of a circular letter in Welsh addressed by D. E. Jenkins from Denbigh to the officers of [Calvinistic Methodist] churches in the Vale of Clwyd, 1907, drawing their attention to recently published Welsh books on religious topics, and offering suggestions with regard to the formation of reading groups or societies for buying and studying these and other works of a similar nature; a copy of a letter from [the Reverend] J[ohn] Jones from Talsarn, to William Roberts, Nefyn, 1855, announcing his inability to fulfill a preaching engagement owing to pressure of work at the quarry (see Y Goleuad, 7 Tachwedd 1934, t. 4); and notes of sermons preached by John Jones ?at Denbigh in 1846. The printed material consists of a copy of Y Pulpud, cyf.
