A volume containing two texts of 'The Travels of Charlemagne To Jerusalem and Constantinople', the one in French and the other in Welsh. The latter is from the Red Book of Hergest (Jesus College MS 1, col. 605 ff.) and is said to 'have been 'Transcribed from a copy made by Mr John Rhys, and collated with the original MS by Mr Llywarch Reynolds, March 8th 1870, and recopied from the transcript of Mr Reynolds, by Thomas Stephens', 22 July 1872.

An English translation by David Howell ('Llawdden') of Taliesin Williams ('Ab Iolo'): Traethawd ar Hynafiaeth ac Awdurdodaeth Coelbren Y Beirdd, ... (Llanymddyfri, 1840), with copious additions and revisions by Thomas Stephens, Merthyr Tudful. A note by J. H. Davies on the fly-leaf states that the translation was made in 1853, at the instance of Thomas Stephens. The original essay was awarded a medal and a prize at the Cymreigyddion y Fenni Eisteddfod, 1838. The end of the text is imperfect, one leaf probably being wanting. The spine is lettered 'Coelbren y Beirdd'.

A volume made up of fourteen letters, 1819-1851, from John Jones (Tegid or Ioan Tegid, 1792-1852), Oxford and later Nevern, to various correspondents. The details are as follows: six letters, 1819-1826, to the Rev. Thomas Richards, Berriew (the education of the addressee's brother and of E. Evans [probably 'Ieuan Glan Geirionydd'], a 'cywydd' on the death of Mrs Bosanquet, literary matters, adverse criticism from the bishop of Llandaff [William van Mildert] of a proof-sheet of the edition of the Welsh Prayer Book which the writer had undertaken to superintend); four letters, 1820-1824, to the Rev. David Richards, Llansilin (the education of the addressee's younger brother [Lewis], literary matters, the addressee's marriage, etc.); one letter, 1839, to Miss Angharad Lloyd [sic] (the Liber Landavensis is now in the press, he has completed his Welsh version of Isaiah direct from the Hebrew); one letter, 1846, to Owen Williams, Waenfawr (literary matters, criticism of the addressee's proposed 'Vocabulary'); one letter, 1851, to [Ebenezer Thomas] Eben Fardd (re. adjudicating the 'pryddestau' on 'Golygfa Moses &c'); and one letter, 1850, to the Rev. Richard Richards [Meifod] (he is glad to hear of the addressee's success, a proposed monument to Bishop William Morgan and the Rev. Walter Davies (Gwallter Mechain) at Llanrhaiadr yn Mochnant, plans for a commentary in Welsh on the Epistle to the Galatians etc.). Also included in the volume are extracts, 1845, from a manuscript of Rowland Hugh 'o'r Graienyn ger y Bala' ('Brawd Nain Ioan Tegid o du ei fam oedd Rowland Hugh'), transcripts of two letters, the originals of which are to be found in Peniarth MS 11, viz. a letter, 1847, from [John Jones] Tegid, Nevern to the Lady Charlotte E. Guest and a letter, 1860, from Tho[ma]s Stephens, Merthyr Tydfil to W. W. E. Wynne, Esq., and an outline of 'Tegid's Feet [shoes] drawn at the Vicarage Darowen at the request of ?M. D. Jones, Darowen, 1836'.

A volume of miscellaneous press cuttings from Welsh and Welsh-American newspapers and periodical publications compiled, with some holograph annotations, by John Jones ('Myrddin Fardd'). The titles include 'Gorsedd y Beirdd', 'Yr Eisteddfod Genedlaethol' (Cardiff, 1883), 'Diwygiad yr Eisteddfod', 'Yr Eisteddfod a'i Hanes' (Rhyl, 1892), 'Llith Aneurin Fardd', 'Eisteddfod Genhedlaethol Aberdar, 1861 - "Hanes Llenyddol Cymru". Beirniadaeth' (by T. Stephens, Merthyr Tydfil), 'Sion Philip, Mochras', 'The British Kymry .... By the Rev. R. W. There are two labels laid on the outer upper cover, the one numbered '10' and the other in the hand of 'Myrddin Fardd' inscribed 'Chwidredd J. Morris Jones, Llythyrau Aneurin Fardd, Beirniadaeth T. Stephens, The British Kymry, etc. etc.'.

Among the subjects discussed are Thomas Stephens, Merthyr (obituary notice, etc.), 'Percy Bysshe Shelley - his life in Wales and Lynmouth', the diary of Morgan Williams, Tynycoed [NLW MS 14874], Theophilus Evans, The Welsh vocabulary of the Bangor district [Oxford, 1913] by O. H. Fynes-Clinton (review by 'Jmj'), and 'Cyhoeddiadau cyfnodol y Methodistiaid' (two articles by 'Ab Risiart').

An album of annotated autographs, photographs and engravings, printed matter, press cuttings, etc., compiled during the years 1858-1881. The volume is almost entirely devoted to persons who were prominent in the literary and musical life of Wales during this period, and it appears from internal evidence to have been well known to the compiler's friends and contemporaries. The autographs are largely in the form of personal entries, recorded mainly at national and other eisteddfodau, but there are also a number of mounted holograph letters, 'cut-out' signatures from holograph letters, and franks. About half their number are addressed to Thomas Bevan ('Caradawc'), the Society's first secretary. Of the remainder some are addressed to John Evans ('Ieuan ab Gruffydd'), who succeeded Thomas Bevan as secretary, and to the Reverend John Evans, Llanover, who was chairman of the Society for more than one term and secretary from (?)
