Gwlad y Bryniau

  • NLW MS 24054A.
  • Ffeil
  • [1909]

Drafft, [1909], yn llaw T. Gwynn Jones o'i awdl 'Gwlad y Bryniau', awdl fuddugol Eisteddfod Genedlaethol 1909, Llundain. = A holograph draft, [1909], of 'Gwlad y Bryniau' by T. Gwynn Jones, the winning awdl at the 1909 National Eisteddfod in London.
Mae'r llawysgrif yn gyfrol gyfansawdd, gyda nifer fawr o ddalennau (ff. 2-6, 8, 10-22, 25, 27-29, 32, 34-35) wedi eu tynnu allan o lyfr poced (LlGC, Papurau Thomas Gwynn Jones D320 erbyn hyn) sydd yn cynnwys drafft cynharach o rannau o'r awdl. Mae'r gweddill yn ddalennau newydd yn cynnwys rhannau diwygiedig o'r gerdd (ff. 1, 7, 9, 23-24, 26, 30-31, 33, 36-44). Mae'r testun yn cynnwys nifer fawr o newidiadau a diddymiadau, ac yn y ffurf ddiwygiedig yma mae'n cyfateb yn agos iawn i'r fersiwn orffenedig (gw. LlGC, Eisteddfod Genedlaethol Cymru - Cyfansoddiadau a beirniadaethau 1909/1). Cyhoeddwyd yr awdl gyntaf yng Nghofnodion a Chyfansoddiadau Eisteddfod Genedlaethol 1909 (Llundain), gol. gan E. Vincent Evans (Llundain, 1910), tt. 25-36, a'i ail-argraffu yn T. Gwynn Jones, Detholiad o Ganiadau ([Y Drenewydd], 1926), tt. 20-44. = The manuscript is a composite volume, with many folios (ff. 2-6, 8, 10-22, 25, 27-29, 32, 34-35) being leaves removed from a pocket book (now NLW, Papurau Thomas Gwynn Jones D320) which contains an earlier draft of parts of the awdl. The remaining folios are new leaves containing revised sections of the poem (ff. 1, 7, 9, 23-24, 26, 30-31, 33, 36-44). The text contains many emendations and deletions and in this revised form corresponds very closely to the submitted version (see NLW, Eisteddfod Genedlaethol Cymru - Cyfansoddiadau a beirniadaethau 1909/1). It was first published in Cofnodion a Chyfansoddiadau Eisteddfod Genedlaethol 1909 (Llundain), ed. by E. Vincent Evans (London, 1910), pp. 25-36, and re-printed in T. Gwynn Jones, Detholiad o Ganiadau ([Newtown], 1926), pp. 20-44.
