A volume entitled 'Armorial Bearings of the Bailif[f]s & Mayors of Shrewsbury From Anno Dom. MCCCLXXII', comprising 786 coats of arms, almost all painted, of the bailiffs and mayors of the town of Shrewsbury, arranged chronologically from 1372 to 1861 (the shields of the mayors from 1853 to 1861 are empty), together with notes recording historical events in Shrewsbury written on the facing pages and an index of personal names on ff. 2-3 verso. The autographs of many of the mayors, especially from the second half of the eighteenth century onwards, are supplied by cut signatures pasted alongside their respective coats of arms.
The volume was in the possession of the Shropshire antiquary Thomas Farmer Dukes (d. 1850); he was mayor of Shrewsbury in 1831 and his signature occurs here alongside his coat of arms (f. 50). The shields for the years 1851 to 1861 were added after his death. Pasted on f. 50 verso is a letter, [1852x1860], from the Shrewsbury genealogist Joseph Morris to William Ormsby-Gore, listing the names of the mayors of Shrewsbury from 1848 to 1852, with descriptions of their coats of arms; another hand has added in pencil the names of the mayors from 1853 to 1862.

A facsimile manuscript in two parts mostly in the hand of William Watkin Edward Wynne. The first part comprises copies (some printed) of charters, public records, deeds, pedigrees, poetry, etc. of Merionethshire and Caernarvonshire interest, some of which are taken from transcripts made by Robert Vaughan, Hengwrt. The material includes records and pedigrees relating to the Wynn family of Peniarth; notes on the Maurice and Owen families of Clenennau, Penmorfa, Caernarvonshire, with related deeds possibly in the hand of William Maurice of Llansilin; deeds relating to the Porkington estate; an extent of the commote of Eifionydd, 1352; an extract from the Coroner's Rolls for Merionethshire, 1345; charters of Castell y Bere and Harlech Castle; pedigrees of Madog ap Dafydd of Hendwr, Llandrillo, Merionethshire; an ode to Einion ap Gruffydd of Corsygedol by Gruffudd Gryg; odes to Dafydd ab Ieuan ab Einion by Guto'r Glyn and Dafydd Nanmor; letters addressed to W. W. E. Wynne, the correspondents including Walter Davies ('Gwallter Mechain'); etc. The second part is also mostly in the hand of W. W. E. Wynne and again comprises material mainly of Merionethshire and Caernarvonshire interest, including pedigrees, correspondence, deeds, etc. relating to the Porkington estate and to the Maurice family and to the Wynne family of Glyn and Ystumcegid, Caernarvonshire; poetry relating to members of the Wynn family of Glyn by Huw Machno, Rhisiart Cynwal and others (one elegy translated into English); press cuttings taken from the Cambrian News, 1879; letters addressed to W. W. E. Wynne, the correspondents including Walter Davies ('Gwallter Mechain') and Joseph Morris; etc.

A volume of pedigrees of South Wales families, with notes on their arms [in the hand of Sir Samuel Rush Meyrick, antiquary]. The volume is described on the title-page as 'The British Geneologist, or A Collection of the Pedigrees and Arms of the families inhabiting the Counties called Monmouthshire, Glamorganshire, Caermarthenshire, Pembrokeshire, and Cardiganshire. To which is added Fragmenta Geneologica. The whole compiled From the best authorities, and assistance of the best Heralds, by Edward Llwyd, Keeper of the Ashmolean Museum in Oxford, 1693.
