A fragment of Geoffrey of Monmouth's Brut in English, containing most of the life of Arthur, including the prophecies of Merlin, written in anglicana by one hand of the late fifteenth century. Two-line blue initials for chapters; headings, paragraph marks and underlinings in red.

Our manuscript begins at the end of Brie's chapter 73 and continues to his chapter 101; his chapter 101 is in ours, followed on f. 18 verso by the beginning of a chapter on Cadwallader which is not in Brie (on the Cadwallader chapter see C. W. Marx, pp. 377-380, and Riddy, p. [vi]).

A volume containing a treatise on arms, copied in 1678 'allan or Llifr a fenthyciais i gan Sion Mathews o Ruabon'. It includes the arms of Arthur and other figures from Geoffrey of Monmouth's Historia from Brutus onward, arranged alphabetically and mixed up with historical personages; there are 178 entries in all (pp. 3-25). This is followed by tracts including 'Bonedd y Gwyr Gore' (pp. 25-28), and a letter from Thomas Maurice to Dr John Davies of Mallwyd (pp. 345-354).

Letters, 1828-1857, written by Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm (the Brothers Grimm) mainly concerning literary and academic matters.
They comprise a letter from Jacob to Dr Adolf Hellfrich, 21 September 1857 (item 2), concerning research in Spain, with an excerpt of a report of the Royal Academy of Sciences, Berlin, 1857 (item 3); and a report by Jacob on a French language examination, [1829x1837] (item 5); ten letters from Wilhelm to Georg Heinrich Pertz, 1828-1857 (items 7-16), and a letter from Wilhelm [?to Pertz], 28 August 1842 (item 18), containing references to King Arthur and to the Mabinogion.
