A tune book of Griffith Williams, Griolen, Llanuwchllyn, containing songs, hymn-tunes, and anthems. Eight of the compositions are attributed, seven to J. D. Jones, Ruthin, and one to E. S. Jones. Two of the compositions are written to words by Samuel Roberts ('S. R.'), Llanbryn-mair, and one to words by (Lewis (or Llewelyn?) Edwards] 'Llewelyn Twrog'.

The file comprises papers, 1960 and 1970, relating to Joseph David Jones, Ruthin (1827-1870), schoolmaster and composer, including a typescript autobiography copied from the original, a typescript copy of an account of J. D. Jones by the Rev. H. Elvet Lewis which appeared in the British Weekly, 21 May 1908, letters and press cuttings regarding the centenary of his death. The papers were collected, in all probability, by Mr Oswald Davies, Ruthin, and transferred at some point to the care of Mr T. I. Ellis.

A collection of hymn-tunes, anthems and miscellaneous songs compiled apparently in the Llanbrynmair district. The tunes are mostly anonymous but there are items ascribed to the Reverend J[ohn] D[avid] Edwards, John Ashton, Trefeglwys, W[illiam] Owen [Prysgol], J[oseph] D[avid] Jones, 1851, and D. P. Price, Cazenovia.
