Two journals, 1717-1737, and a fragment of a letter-book, 1726-1727, of Sir Erasmus Philipps, fifth baronet, of Picton Castle, Pembrokeshire, containing descriptions of tours in Wales, England, Holland and Germany, entries relating to family and political matters, etc.; and a notebook, 1706-1710, of Erasmus's father, Sir John Philipps, fourth baronet, of Picton Castle, containing details relating to the execution of the will of his brother-in-law, John Shorter.

Journal, 1717-1737, of Sir Erasmus Philipps, some entries relating to as early as 1705, containing a description of a tour in 1717 through counties Carmarthen and Brecon and the south-west of England to London; an account of his residence at Pembroke College, Oxford, 1720-1722; and entries relating to his family, his participation in his father's religious and philanthropic work and, following his election in 1726, his activities as Member of Parliament for the borough of Haverfordwest.

An inventory of the household goods at Picton Castle, Pembrokeshire, made for Sir John Philipps, 4th bart, in October 1729.
It describes briefly the contents of rooms within the family's living-quarters and the kitchen and work area, providing a contemporary record of the interior arrangements of the castle. Fifty-seven maps and 'one picture in oyl' are listed but no books, silverware or jewellery. For a transcript see Major Francis Jones, 'Welsh Interiors: 1.
