The file consists of a scrapbook of press cuttings, 1984-1992, of obituaries of Richard Burton, Emlyn Williams, Dr Kate Roberts, Sir Geraint Evans, Dylan Thomas, Ivor Novello and others prominent in Welsh literary, theatrical and musical circles.

A copy of a corrected typescript draft (end wanting), 1986, of Philip Burton, Richard and Philip: The Burtons. A Book of Memories (London, 1992), differing somewhat from the published version.

The file comprises programmes and periodicals, 1949-1985, relating to the life and work of Richard Burton.

Visitors Book for Angus McBean's studios in Endell Street and Islington, with over one thousand signatures from 1949 to 1968, almost all associated with the entertainment industry, some with added comments and drawings.
Among the signatures are those of actors Laurence Olivier (ff. 5, 43, 59), Vivien Leigh (f. 5), Marlene Dietrich (f. 23), Katharine Hepburn (f. 33 verso) and Richard Burton (f. 38), comedian Spike Milligan (f. 56), playwright Tennessee Williams (f. 28), songwriter Ivor Novello (f. 11) and singers such as Maria Callas (f. 61) and all four Beatles (f. 63 verso). Signatures added in January 1987 are of visitors to Fleming's Hall (f. 78 verso).

The file comprises correspondence and associated documents concerning Ymddiriedaeth Ysgolion Cymraeg/The Welsh Schools Trust and the establishment of, and financial support for, Ysgol Gymraeg Llundain/The Welsh School, London. The papers include poor quality photostat copies of letters regarding a deed of covenant made in favour of the school by the actor Richard Burton, as well as copies of the Declaration of Trust, October 1961.

A first draft screenplay by the director Andrew Sinclair (Timon Films, London), [1971]-[1972], of the play by Dylan Thomas. A piece of paper has been pasted on the title page with the words: 'For Andrew, I have rarely admired or liked a man better! Affectionately Richard B.'.
