Freda Aykroyd (Alun Lewis research papers)

Correspondence of Freda Aykroyd, largely comprising letters exchanged between Freda Aykroyd and John Pikoulis in the course of Pikoulis's research into the life and work of Alun Lewis. Together with a printed email titled 'Memories of Alun Lewis' by Gillian Somerville-Large, daughter of Freda Aykroyd.

Dates noted are those of original letters, not of photocopying.

Plays relating to Alun Lewis

Typescript scripts of two three-act plays relating to Alun Lewis, the one, by Freda Aykroyd, titled 'The Syllable of Love', the other by playwright Charles Way titled 'Oh Journeyman', sent, with covering letters from the authors, to John Pikoulis.
'The Syllable of Love' includes covering letter from Freda Aykroyd to John Pikoulis, manuscript notes by John Pikoulis which relate to the script and photocopies of folios 6 and 51 of the script. Script includes annotations in John Pikoulis's hand.
'Oh Journeyman' is a first draft and includes annotations in John Pikoulis's hand. Both plays are, to date, unproduced.
