William George, Carnarvon, to J[ohn] Griffith Griffith,

Wg defends himself to Jgg, who is a visiting magistrate of Carnarvon gaol, against a charge of cruelty brought against him [Wg] by Dr. William Roberts, visiting surgeon of the gaol, naming especially the case of James James, a debtor. Wg makes a detailed answer to the charge, defends his position in general and implies the charge has been brought through enmity against him by his accusers. [See also nos. P704-5].

W[illiam] Griffith, Carnarvon, to [Thomas James Bulkeley, Lord Bulkeley],

Thanks for a letter, apologies for his delay in answering. Compliments B on his remark concerning the benefit of Law lectures. Condoles with him on the "loss" of his "Lady Patroness". Asks for details of TJB's propsed Scottish trip. Postscript re hint the declining health of Sir William Owen, and a hint for Tjb to seek appointment as his successor as Vice-Admiral of North Wales.
