Agreements and deeds to resolve disputes over parts of the Gogerddan estate

Agreements and deeds to resolve legal disputes involving Sir Richard Pryse of Gogerddan, John Jones of Nanteos, Sir John Wittewronge of Rothampstead, Hertfordshire, and others, 1652-1661. The relevant parts of the Gogerddan estate include the Lodge and the Park, or Park Bodvage, and other messuages in the parishes of Llanfihangel Genau’r-glyn and Llangynfelyn; the capital messuage of Penyberth, Tythyn y Penrhyn, Tythyn y Pandy and a fulling mill; numerous (named) messuages and lands in Aberystwyth and Trefechan; lands which descended through Dame Gwen Pryse; the manor of Llanbadarn Fawr; escheat land in Perfedd, once belonging to Griffith ap Llewellyn Vaine; and various messuages in Cwmrheidol, Rhydonnen and Faenor in the parish of Llanbadarn Fawr. Specific disputes include: actions of ejectment in the Court of Exchequer by tenants of Sir John Wittewronge against Sir Richard Pryse, 1659-1661; the rights to herring fishing in Cardiganshire, rent arrears in the lordship of Tregaron and the title to Pen Llwybir Malley, 1661.
