A miscellany entitled 'Blwch Manion', largely of the period 1855-9, in the hand of Enoch Williams ('Llithrig Arfon'), tailor, Llanrwst. It contains strict- and free-metre poetry by the scribe and others; a copy of part of a letter from the scribe's brother, W. E. Williams, Trenton, New Jersey, to his uncle Richard Jones [Capel Curig], [18]56 (the writer's reminiscences of Capel Curig, the writer's church membership); the scribe's wages accounts and tailoring measurements; memoranda relating to eisteddfodau; an essay on 'Manteision Gwybodaeth'; an extensive collection of Welsh proverbs; etc. The titles of the poems include 'Englyn i Glogwyn yr Ogo. ger Llanrwst', 'Llinellau Ar farwolaeth Miss Margaret Jones, merch Mr R. Jones, Tuhwnt-i'r-Bont, Llanrwst. Bu farw Hytraf [sic] 31 1853', 'Englyn i Mari fy ngwraig', 'Englyn o anerchiad i aelodau y gymdaethas [sic] lenyddol yn Llanrwst', 'Englynion beddargraff....' (to Llewelyn Samuel, Bethesda, William David, Siop y Garreg, Dinas [Glamorgan], William Jones, Pen Rallt, Betws-[y-coed], Hugh Jones, Pen Rallt, and John Jones, 'diweddar Ddeiacon Bettws y Coed'), 'Englyn i Miss Elinor Roberts, merch Mr David Roberts, Tan y Ffordd, Llanbedr ...', 'John Mills ['Ieuan Glan Alarch']', etc.

A notebook in the hand of J. H. Davies containing a bibliography of selected printed books in the Swansea Free Library. At the end and inset are accounts and other particulars in the hand of J. H. Davies and in another hand, 1900-17 and undated, relating to payments made for copying the Morris letters, etc.

A list compiled by J. H. Davies of books printed by John Ross during the years 1763 and 1807 [published as Rhestr o lyfrau argraffedig yng Nghaerfyrddin gan John Ross rhwng y blynyddoedd 1763 a 1807, a gasglwyd ynghyd gan John Davies (Carmarthen, 1916)], with manuscript notes [?in the hand of J. H. Davies].

A copy of James Ussher (Archbishop of Armagh), Britannicarum Ecclesiarvm Antiqvitates... (Dublinii, 1639), wrth copious marginal and other annotations and a short index (4pp.) in a contemporary hand. The title page bears the following inscriptions: 'Prima Editio in mari Baltico Periit. Hunc librum ex Hibernia Transmisit D.Joh. Sharpius Prothonotarius ibidem' and 'Gulielmi Higgini P (?) A D D[ono] D[edit] V[ir] Cl[aerissimus] Carolus Twisdenus Legum Dr. Cancellarius Covent. et Lich. Diocesseos 1639'. William Higgins (ob. 1666) was canon, 1633, and precentor, 1636, of Lichfield, rector of Stoke-upon-Teme, 1639-66, and archdeacon of Derby, 1641-66.

A volume (watermark 1801) written probably in the same hand as Cwrtmawr MS 531C containing descriptive notes on British plants based on [William] Withering, An arrangement of British plants. The writer has subsequently marked those which are included by W. Bingley in 'A Catalogue of the more uncommon Welsh plants, with their places of growth' (see W. Bingley, A Tour round North Wales, performed during the summer of 1798 (London, 1800), Vol II, p. 371), and sometimes the habitat given by Bingley is inserted. On p. 42 is a list of 'Plants mentioned in Mr Arthur Aikin's Tour thro' North Wales in ye Summer 1796.' There is an index at the beginning of the volume but this is rather confusing as the pages are numbered in two consecutive series, pp. 1-44 and 1-31.

A transcript by [?]Richard Richards, Darowen and others of a portion of Brut y Tywysogion ('Llyma Gronicl Tywysogion Cymru') (cf. Thomas Jones: Brut y Tywysogion (Cardiff, 1955, pp. 2-55)).

An imperfect manuscript containing a Welsh vocabulary (Merth - ysgrynedig, and a few entries under Ch- ); 'Cronicl y Twysogion' ('Hyn adynnais yn dalfyr alhan o lyfr y Twysogion asgrifen[n]odh Cradog o Lan[n] Garrfan'); 'Hen hen[n]wau bagad o Brif dhinasoedh yr ynys hon, ar hen[n]wau sydh arnynt orig, a phwy ai gwnaeth hwynt'; 'Dwned'; 'Deg rhan gwahan[n]ieth Cristnogion y byd'; etc. The manuscript is in the same hand as Panton MS 68 (NLW MS 2034) pp. 33-48, which are dated 1650. Annotations by Peter Bailey Williams.

Two emblazoned pedigree rolls of the family of Burchill (Bourghill, Burfield) of Crickhowel, Brecknockshire, the one compiled during the seventeenth and the other during the late eighteenth century. The later of the two rolls is entitled 'Parentalia Burfieldiana'.

(I) A home-made notebook of Morris Davies of Bangor (1796-1876), author, hymnologist and musician, containing material towards a biography of the Reverend Peter Williams (1723-96) and draft resolutions of a committee of Tabernacle Calvinistic Methodist Church, Bangor, 1851-2 (with a reference to the proposed erection of 'Capel Upper Bangor' i.e. Twr-gwyn Chapel). The volume is made up of a variety of printed and manuscript sheets, including an undated printed appeal for subscriptions towards the presentation of his own portrait to Ebenezer Thomas ('Eben Fardd'), an undated printed prospectus of E. Williams, milliner and dress maker, High Street, Bangor; a notice of a meeting of the Provisional Directors of the Rhiw Bach Slate Quarries Company, 1853; a letter from the Reverend John Hughes, Liverpool to M[orris] Davies, 1848 (enclosing books, the possible re-publication of a book of hymns); a printed prospectus of Samuel Roberts, Bangor Agency, China Tea Company, 1852; a letter from Ebenezer M. Roberts, Pwllheli to [Morris Davies], 1853 (the debt still remaining on Penymount Chapel) (with a draft reply); a printed prospectus of [J.] Russell's Menai Bathing Machines, Gored-y-Gyd, Bangor, 1853; and letters from Morris Davies to [ ], undated (an appointment), Croxon, Jones, C[o.], [bankers], Oswestry to John Jones, currier, Llanfyllin, 1838 (a payment), and Thomas Gee, Denbigh to [Morris Davies], 1850 (an allocation to the recipient from the proceeds of Y Traethodydd for 1849). (Ii) A small notebook containing a copy of a letter written in response to a letter published in Y Gwyliedydd, XI (1834), pp. 296-8, relating to the Reverend Peter Williams.
