A small volume containing Welsh poetry by and in the autograph of Richard Williams, blacksmith, Tremadog, Caernarvonshire (d. 1851). A note by John Jones ('Myrddin Fardd') on the fly-leaves reads 'Gwaith a llawysgrifen Richard Williams, tad [Richard Williams] Beuno a [John Williams] Ioan Madog, yw yr Ysgriflyfr hwn.' The contents include 'Awdl Goffadwriaeth am W.A. Madocks yswain ...' another 'awdl' described by Myrddin Fardd as 'Awdl Marwnad Dewi Deudraeth', and 'Cywydd Marwnad Humphrey Jones Gesal Gyfarch.'.

A composite volume largely in the autograph of Ebenezer Thomas ('Eben Fardd') containing pedigrees (John Jones ('Myrddin Fardd') has marked some items, e.g. Llwynhelyg, Cwningaer, Robert ab Gwilym Ddu, John Wynn Morris of Wmwlch & Tyddyn Mawr); lines of verse (?incomplete) beginning 'My friend and I, on one autumnal morn ...' containing a reference to visiting John Thomas ('Siôn Wyn o Eifion'); the beginning of a translation of 'Awdl Elusengarwch' (Dewi Wyn [o Eifion]) under the title 'Charity'; a copy of a letter, 1854, from Ebenezer Thomas to the Reverend M. Rice Morgan, Pengwern, near Swansea (a claim for postage expenses in connection with the Treforys Eisteddfod); 'Englynion Wrth ganfod Eben Fardd. Awst 20 1853' by 'Maccwy' [?Robert Roberts, 'Macwy Môn']; diary entries, 2 May - 10 September 1858, relating to the illness and death of Elizabeth, youngest daughter of 'Eben Fardd'; a letter, 1852, from William Evans, Llandwrog to Ebenezer Thomas, sending a copy of some lines of verse by the writer entitled 'Hail, Clynnog Fawr'; a note concerning Goronwy Owen and his descendants in America based on letters in Yr Herald Cymraeg, 10 July 1858; accounts in connection with 'Y Seat Ganu', 1859-62; notes for essays or addresses (e.g. 'Ystyriaethau ar ddydd diolchgarwch am y cynhauaf yn 1856 (Medi 30)'); notes on temperance; a transcript by E. Vardd [sic] of the comments in the Carnarvon & Denbigh Herald, 12 January 1856, on his lecture at the Hope Hall, Liverpool on January 2; observations on, 'Church Discipline' and a note concerning a [C.M.] Mo[nthly] Meeting at Brynaera, 7 September 1845; an adjudication (beginning wanting) of the poetical compositions submitted for competition at a [Merthyr] Eisteddfod, [Christmas Day, 1850] (see Seren Gomer, 1851, p. 45); and an adjudication of the poetical compositions at the Denbigh Eisteddfod, 1860. Interpersed are items of poetry by Eben Fardd, some in the form of press-cuttings, together with some loose papers (e.g. a copy of a letter to the editor of the Carnarvon and Denbigh Herald, [1849], and a list of 'Friends and correspondents') and printed matter (e.g. circulars relating to a proposed testimonial to [David Williams] 'Alaw Goch', and to the Aberffraw Eisteddfod of 1849). The volume also contains one or two entries in the hand of John Jones ('Myrddin Fardd').

A composite volume lettered on the spine 'Llenorion Lleyn ac Eifionydd' and described in the old typewritten handlist of Cwrtmawr Manuscripts as 'Llyfr Cywyddau etc. R. Llys Padrig. etc. fol.' The first part is in an early nineteenth century hand or hands (watermarks 1803 and 1804) and contains a list of sheriffs for Caernarvonshire to 1796; a list of arms; and 'cywyddau', etc. by Rhisiart Cynwal, Gruffydd Phylip, Sion Dafydd Las o Nanau, Owen Gruffydd, Lewis Menai, Ieuan Tew, Sion Tudur, Sion Phylip, Edmwnd Prys, Ieuan Llwyd, Gruffydd Hafren and Watcin Clywedog. The remainder of the manuscript (from p. 56 to the end) is almost entirely of later date and is written in the autograph of John Jones ('Myrddin Fardd') and others; this section includes 'cywyddau', 'englynion', etc. by some of the poets already mentioned and by Ffoulk Wyn 'yn enw Owen Madryn y Crwner', Owain Waed Da, W[illiam] Llyn, Evan ap Tudur Penllyn, Howel ap Feinallt, Morys ap Ifan ap Einion o Lyn, Owain ap Llewelyn ap y Moel, Gruffydd Grug, Dafydd Llwyd ap Llywelyn ap Gruffydd o Fathafarn, Robin y prydydd bach, Huw Pennant, Sion Cain, Iolo Goch, Sion Brwynog (incomplete), Huw Llyn, Syr Dafydd Trefor, Ieuan ap Madog ap Dafydd, Tudur Penllyn, [Lewis Môn] (beginning only), Hugh ap Risiart ap Dd, Morys Dwyfech, Cadwaladr Gruffydd, Gruffydd Bodwrdda, Rowland Hugh, Lewis Glynn, Dafydd Namor [sic] o blwy Beddgelert, Howel Ceiriog, Wiliam Cynwal, D. Robert [sic] 'Sion Lleyn'. Inset are 'Cywydd i Ddafydd Owain o'r Gaerwen ymhlwyf Llanystumdwy yn Eifionydd, swydd Gaernarfon, (Bardd ieuangc yr hwn a ddychanodd D. Ddu o Eryri am iddo esgeuluso dyfod i ymweled ag ef pan fu yn rhoddi tro yn Eifionydd yn 1801 - y rhan gyntaf o'r Co. gan Wm. Jones. Bardd ieuangc o Bentraeth yn Môn, y rhan olaf gan fardd o Arfon', dated 'Llanddeiniolen near Caernarvon Septr. 4th. 1802' and addressed to 'Mr. O. Jones, No. 148 Upper Thames Street, London' [? in the autograph of David Thomas ('Dafydd Ddu Eryri')] and an extract from [Yr Eurgrawn Wesleyaidd, 1824], pp. 341-6 ('Hanes Cantref y Gwaelod', etc.). Some of the poems are said to be copied from the manuscript of Rhys Jones 'o'r Blaenau' and William Elias, Plas y Glyn, Anglesey.

Five uniformly bound notebooks numbered 1-5 containing a collection made by John Jones ('Myrddin Fardd') of the poetical works of Owen Gruffydd, Llanystumdwy (d. 1730), transcribed from Peniarth MS 124 (see 502 and 505), NLW MS 799 and other sources (?NLW MSS 18 and 11816, etc.), together with some printed items and (in 503) a few 'englynion' by William Elias. The lists of contents at the beginning of 503 appear to relate to Cwrtmawr MS 467 and NLW MS 799 respectively.

Two notebooks in the autograph of John Jones ('Myrddin Fardd') containing transcripts of 'cywyddau', etc. by the following poets: Wiliam Llyn, Huw Llyn, Morys Dwyfech, Lewis Daron, Sion Wyn Owain, Kadwaladr Kesel, Huw Machno, Edmwnd Prys, Sion Philipp, Gruffydd Phylips, Huw Pennant, Lewis Menai, Wiliam Kynwal, Rissiart Philip, Richard Kynwal, Rhus Kain, Howel Reinallt, Sion Brwynog, Watkin Klewedog, Morgan ap Huw Lewis, Inco Brydydd, Dafydd Na[n]mor, Gruffudd Grug, Iolo Goch, Owain Waed da and Llywelyn Goch ap Meurig hên. Nearly all the poems are eulogies of, or elegies on , persons from Llŷn and Eifionydd. On the first page of MS 507 is the following note by J. H. Davies: 'Codwyd o lawysgrif Mr J. Glyn Davies ? Gan Myrddin Fardd' and it seems probable that the contents of MS 507 and the first ten items in MS 508 were transcribed from J. Glyn Davies MS 2 (though not in the same order), perhaps with a view to publication. The remaining poems appear to have been transcribed from various sources, including Cwrtmawr MS 454. Pasted in after the poems in MS 508 are two newspaper cuttings relating to 'Phylipiaid Ardudwy'.

A volume written largely in the autograph of Ebenezer Thomas, ('Eben Fardd') and described on the title-page as 'Llyvyr y Llwythau Cymreig yn cynwys Taflenau Achol o'r Pum Llwyth Breninol a Phymtheg Llwyth Gwynedd ynghyd a Byrdraith hanesiol am Sylfaenwyr yr amrywiol Lwythau a Gwroniaid Cymreig eraill Eu Preswylfeydd, Tiriogaethau, Paisarfau a Disgynyddion. Casgledig gan Ebenezer Thomas, Clynnog, Hâf 1843.' At the beginning of the volume are 'A Map of North Wales' [Anglesey and West Caernarvonshire] and a list of the contents to p. 69. More than half of the volume is blank but the written pages after p. 69 contain, among other things, details of 'Villas [Vills] in Eifionydd' ('Abridged from a letter of the Rev. J. Jones Llanllyfni to Ellis Owen Esq. Cefny meusydd'), pedigrees of Rhwngyddwyryd (Dolbenmaen), Rhiw and Bodfel (Llŷn), and Cefn Coch in Anglesey, etc., 'Carol Nadolig, 1859 - ar "Diolch i Ti yr Hollalluog Dduw &c"' by E. Thos ('Eben Fardd'), a petition (draft), undated, from Jane Jones of Penarfynydd in the parish of Abererch, Caernarvonshire to the bishop of Bangor and the other trustees of the Llandwrog Almshouses, particulars of the ancestry of Tho[ma]s E. Roberts, Hendre, Abereirch sent by him to Eben Fardd, 24 July 1861, and a printed prospectus, undated, of 'The Works of the Bards of Llyn and Eifionydd, collected by Myrddin Fardd'. Loose between pp. 27 and 28 are notes by J. Jones, Llanllyfni, May 1844, headed 'A. D. 1352. Hanes ardrethol Cwmmwd Isgorfai', and pasted on to these or vice versa is a printed sheet concerning Gwydir Chapel, Llanrwst (J. Jones, Printer, Llanrwst). Facing the title-page of the volume is a label bearing the words 'Llyfr Achau ac Arfbeisiau y 5 Llwyth Breninol a 15 Llwyth Pendefigol Gwynedd ynghyd au Disgynyddion, &c.' and above it John Jones ('Myrddin Fardd') has written 'Costiodd y Llyfr yma i mi ddwy bunt heblaw talu am ei rwymo wedi hyny.'

An album of mounted cuttings (from Y Gwladgarwr, Y Drych, Yr Herald Cymraeg, Baner ac Amserau Cymru, etc.) containing biographies and material relating to the life and work of Richard Robert Jones ('Dic Aberdaron'). The volume was compiled, with holograph annotations, by John Jones ('Myrddin Fardd'). The spine is lettered 'Dic Aberdaron'.

A volume written almost entirely in the autograph of John Roberts ('Siôn Lleyn'; 1749-1817) containing poetry largely of his own composition, with some items by other poets. The volume is in two sections and there is a list of contents at the beginning covering pp. 1-145 in the first section. The wording on the title-page is 'Trysorfa yr Awen sef Casgliad o Ganiadau, Sion Lleyn, 1787,' but some of the items are of later date. The other poets represented are David Thomas ('Dafydd Ddu o'r Eryri'), Robert Prich[ar]d (Robert Prichiard Sion,'Robin'r Aber'), T[h]om[a]s Edward[s] Nant, D. Edward, Lewis Morys, John Hughes ('pandy bach pentre ucha yn Lleyn'), Richard Powel, Evan Owens, Glan-yllynnay (Llanystumdwy), MrEfan Efans ('Bardd hir') [Ieuan Brydydd Hir], Evan Rich[ar]d (Bryncroes), [David Jones] Dafydd Sion Pierce ('Dafydd Brydydd hir'), Dafydd ap Sion, Owen Griffith, Hugh Lloed [sic] Cynfal, Goronwy Owen(s) ('Goronwy Ddu o Fôn'), Edmund Prys and Griffith Philip. One or two items (p. 2 in the first section and pp. 142-5 at the end of the volume) appear to be in the autograph of John Thomas ('Siôn Wyn o Eifion'). One 'cywydd' in the volume (p. 118 in the first section) is headed 'Annerch Ieuan Bryncroes i Sion Lleyn wedi dyfod i ymweled a mi i Chappel Rhyd-y-Clafrdy pryd yr oeddwn yno yn cadw ysgol y fln 1791 y mis Medi' . The volume contains some notes in the autograph of John Jones ('Myrddin Fardd'), press cuttings and also a copy (printed) of Marwnad, neu Goffadwriaeth y Brawd Robert Roberts, o Sir Gaernarfon : yr hwn a ymadawodd â'r Byd hwn Tachwedd 28, 1802. Yn llawn 40 mlwydd Oed : wedi bod yn pregethu'r Efengyl 15 mlynedd. 8 pp. (Caernarfon : Argraphwyd gan T. Roberts, n.d.) by S. Lleyn. On p. 4 in the second section are 'Trioedd y Crinwas neu'r Cybydd'.

A composite volume written almost entirely in the autograph of Evan Prichard ('Ieuan Lleyn' or 'Bardd Bryncroes'; 1769-1832), with some additions by John Jones ('Myrddin Fardd'). The volume is in two parts, the first part (pp. 1-198) containing poetry mainly by Ieuan Lleyn, with some items also by John Jones, Glan y Gors (beginning wanting), R. Ll. Ddu, Cyllidydd, Pwllheli, 1821, Morrus Dwyfech alias Morrus ab Ifan ab Einion, Owen Gruffydd, Thomas Glyn Llifon, Rich[ar]d Hughes, Cadwaladr Cesail, Sion Roger, D. Drefriw and G. Felyn, y Parchedig Evan Evans 'Ieuan Brydydd Hir', Rod. Jones y Crydd, Dafydd Thomas ('Dafydd Ddu Eryri'), Rhobyn or Bettws [Robert Williams ('Robert ap Gwilym Ddu')], W[illia]m Llyn, W[illia]m Thomas y Llongwr, Ebeneser Tomas neu Cybi Eifion, [David Owen] 'Dewi Wyn', and [John Roberts ] 'S[ion] Lleyn'. Other items in the first part include a draft of a letter, undated, from Evan Pr[ichard] [i.e. 'Ieuan Lleyn'] to an unnamed correspondent (p. 89) (a request for [the mastership of] the free school belonging to the parishes of Rhiw, Bryncroes, Aberdaron and Llanfaelrhys if W[illia]m Owen is turned out), a (?)copy of a letter, 1791, from Ieuan Rich[ar]d, Ty Mawr to an unnamed correspondent whom he addresses as 'Enwog Fardd' (p. 95) (he was unable to attend the Eisteddfod held at Llanrwst; verse in strict and free metre), a (?)translation of a speech by Mr Hodgins [sic], an operative cotton spinner, respecting the Combination Laws, and a speech in Welsh on freedom ('From Walter Davies's Essay [Rhyddid (1791) ]'). The pages following (i.e. 191-8) appear to be in the autograph of John Roberts ('Siôn Lleyn'). Between part I and part II are some items (press cuttings, poetry, etc.) inserted by John Jones ('Myrddin Fardd'), including 'Gwaith Siarl Marc'. Preceding a number of blank pages are two letters from Ieuan Lleyn to Siôn Lleyn, the one undated (?copy), the other written in 1791 from Ty Mawr to Mr John Roberts at Rhyd y clafrdy, Lleyn, containing lines in the 'cywydd' metre by 'Ieuan Fardd Bryncroes' (another of the bardic names used by Ieuan Lleyn). Part II is in three sections, the first consisting of 90 pp. and containing poetry by Gronwy Ddu o Fôn, Robert ab Gwilym [Robert Williams ('Robert ap Gwilym Ddu')], Llanystumdwy, Hywel ab Reinallt, Hywel ab Daf. ab Ieuan ab Rhys, W[illia]m Lleyn, Rhys Llwyd ab Rhys ab Ricart, Deio ab Ieuan Du, Tudur Aled, H. ab O. Gwynedd, John Fychan o Gaergai, Thomas Llwyd or penman, M.D.(qr. This section was written c. 1797-99 at Llangian and at Llanddeiniolen, where it was completed 31 May 1799 (p.90). Part IIb comprises 38 pp. and contains poetry by Ieuan Lleyn, Huw Ifan Gynt o Lanllyfni alias Hywel Eryri, y Parchedig Evan Evans alias Ieuan y Prydydd hir and W[illiam Evans or Fedw arian, preceded by a list of contents. The final section (pp. 11-54) contains poetry by Siôn Dafydd Laes (John Davies alias Penllyn), Lewis Owain o Dyddyn y Garreg, Syr Rhys or Drewenn, Gutto Glynn, S[ion] Tud[ur], D. Gwilym [Dafydd ap Gwilym], Griffith Philyp 'o Ardudwy y' Meirion', Daf[y]dd Thomas alias Daf[y]dd Ddu or Eryri, Ieuan Deulwyn 'o blwyf Pendeulwyn Gerllaw Cydweli Caerfyrddin', Lewis Glyn cothi, Thomas Prys P[la]s Iolyn, Tomas Derllys 'am a wn i' and Rhys Ednyfed, followed by a sketch of a ship ('Debora'), verses entitled 'Brynau [sic] Iwerddon', etc. and 'Sylwiadau ar Wneuthyriad Dyn'. A composite volume from the collection of John Jones ('Myrddin Fardd') written in several hands of the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries and comprising ten main sections: (I) The first section (pp. 1-121 and some unnumbered items) contains poetry by Tomas Edwards Nant, S[ion] Owen, [David Owen] 'Dewi Wyn Eifion' [sic] and (mainly) Robert Williams ('Robert ap Gwilym Ddu'), some possibly in his autograph. Other items include a list of books ('Catalek of all ye books that I Have'), some accounts headed 'Cost Capel garn talwyd' and 'heb Daly am Capel garn', observations entitled 'Lwybr Dyn neu Ysdyriaethau ar bedair rhan oes Dyn' by Robert Williams, a letter, 1845, from Ellis Owen, Cefn y Meusydd, to Mr Robert Williams, Bard, Bettws fawr, Llanystumdwy, containing verses by Robert ab Gwilym Ddu entitled 'Pererindod o'r Aipht i Ganaan; and a list of poems by ['Robert ap Gwilym Ddu']. There are also some press cuttings and other additions by John Jones ('Myrddin Fardd'). (Ii) A memoir of David Owen ('Dewi Wyn o Eifion') by and in the autograph of John Thomas ('Siôn Wyn o Eifion'). (Iii) Miscellaneous items including 'Pymtheg Llwyth Gwynedd', poetry by Huw Llwyd Cynfal, Dafydd ap Sion and y Parchedig Mr Goronwy Owen o Fôn, and draft of a letter from 'Dyngarydd' [?David Owen ('Dewi Wyn o Eifion') ] to Mr Gomer' [? for Seren Gomer ], and 'A Memorandum Book' in the autograph of John Thomas ('Siôn Wyn o Eifion') containing notes on natural history, etc. in English transcribed from various printed sources. (Iv) Notes in Welsh in the autograph of John Thomas ('Siôn Wyn o Eifion') on theological subjects including extracts from 'Patrick's Places' i.e. the work of Patrick Hamilton, followed by short accounts of Phoenicia, Palestine, Assyria, Babylon, etc. (V) An incomplete poem entitled 'Carol Plygain am Bwrcas Crist tros eu [sic] Ddyweddi ...... (Vi) Two items in the autograph of John Thomas ('Siôn Wyn o Eifion') entitled 'Cyfrifiad byr am amryw o enwau neu Sectau a ymddangosasant yn y byd' (? incomplete) and 'Ateb i rai holiadau, mewn Llythyr oddi wrth yr Ysgrifennydd at ei ewythr John Roberts', which last item includes observations by Michael Roberts on one of the questions. (Vii) This section consists of sixteen pages and one loose folio. The first fourteen pages are in the autograph of William Elias, c. 1731-44, and contain poetry by Evan ap Llywelyn Vychan (beginning wanting), D. Parry, William Elias, J. Rhydderch, Owen Griffiths and D[afydd] N[anmor]. The next two pages contain verses in English by Gr: Lloyd and the loose folio contains 'englynion', one by Moris ap Evan ap Dafydd ['Morus Dwyfech']. A note at the foot of p. 9 reads 'Oed ein harglwydd, pan dorwyd, y ffordd y mynydd Bwlch Derwin gynta, 1739, y rhan isa, ai gorphen: Mehefin 18: 1740: Wm Ellias, a Griffith Davidd o fodychen, overseers', and there is a recipe for making ink on p. 10. (Viii) 'Englynion' by Edward Charles and a number of Welsh hymns (author's name not given). (Ix) This section is in the autograph of John Roberts [?'Siôn Lleyn'], 1767, and contains poetry by Roger Thomley, Michel Prichiard, Sion Thomas Bod-edern, Gwen Arthur, William Elias, Owen Griffith, John Philip, John Roberts, Hugh Roberts, Thomas Jones, Rich[ar]d Parry niwbwrch, ? W. Ell... and John Rogar [sic]. (X) Veterinary and other recipes, mainly in Welsh.

A composite volume containing pedigrees in the autograph of Ebenezer Thomas (Eben Fardd; 1802-1863). There are two main sections, both indexed: (A) 'Llyfr Achau amryw Deuluoedd yn Neheubarth a Gwynedd. Adysgrifiwyd genyf fi Ebenezer Thomas 1843'; (B) 'Several of the Carnarfonshire Pedigrees with some others. Copied by Ebenezer Thomas from accredited Authorities 1846', with some later additions by 'Eben Fardd' and one or two loose papers, not all in his hand. Inserted between pp. 74 and 75 in the first section are verses 'On the proposed Restoration of Clynnog Church by the "Archeological Association", 1847 ...' by 'Ebenezer Thomas, Bard; Clynnog Vawr'. At the end of the volume preceding some blank leaves are seven folios, the first of which is headed 'A Next of Kin Investigation' (concerning Erasmus Lloyd). These contain a pedigree of the descendants of Allan Lloyd of Freystrop, Pembrokeshire, exhibited by (?)Erasmus Thomas, Penygelli near Carnarvon and copied by E[benezer Thomas], 29 May 1843, at the Crown & Anchor, Carnarvon, genealogical notes concerning the Lloyds of Penamser, [Ynyscynhaearn], extracts relating to legal actions, 1843, involving the Tremadoc Estate, 'The Family Register of Ebenezer Thomas of Clynnog', lines entitled 'On the Death of my Mother' composed by Ebenezer Thomas 'after his beloved mother who died March 12: 1821', and a pedigree chart, with notes, showing the descent of Ebenezer Thomas through his maternal grandmother from the Lloyds of Penamser. The volume has been annotated here and there by John Jones (Myrddin Fardd).

A miscellaneous volume largely in the autograph of Ebenezer Thomas ('Eben Fardd'). The contents include items of poetry by Eben Fardd, pedigrees (one outlining the descent of Thomas Jerman Jones, 'my Pupil 1859'), two sketches ('The Cwmgwara Plantation' and 'my Birthplace'), a list of poetical compositions by Eben Fardd, 1819-39 (damaged), 'Analysis of Farmed Tenements in the Parish of Clynnog', notes on place names in the parish of Clynnog, a sketch map entitled 'A rough Delineation of the Parish of Clynnog fawr, showing very nearly the boundaries of its ancient 4 Villes' and another sketch map showing the Llanaelhaearn - Llangybi area, 'Annerchiad i Eben Vardd, ar Farwolaeth ei Anwyl Briod' by [Robert Hughes] 'Robyn Wyn' and 'englynion' entitled 'Annerchiad i Ebenezer Thomas' by Griffith Roberts, notes of a sermon by the Reverend W[illia]m Roberts, 1853, accounts relating to Cwm & Monachdy Manganese, 1841-2, and an early composition by Eben Fardd entitled 'Dyrnodiau ar bedair cadwyn ar hugain sy'n dal Meddyliau Beirdd Cymru yn gaeth yn Ngharchardy Cerdd Dafod'. Then follows a notebook labelled 'The Aberffraw Royal Eisteddfod MDCCCLIX [sic, for 1849 (MDCCCXLIX)]. The Judges' Controversy &c.,' originally containing outlines of one or two legal documents and a copy of a stamp bond, 1848, and subsequently used to contain press cuttings, etc. relating to the controversy which followed the adjudication of the poetical compositions at the Aberffraw Eisteddfod. There are also some transcripts by Eben Fardd and a holograph letter, 21 January 1850, from [John Jones] 'Talhaiarn', London to Eben Fardd. Preceding the blank pages at the end of the volume are some miscellaneous press cuttings and one or two items in the autograph of John Jones ('Myrddin Fardd '). Some of the material, including an advertisement for a literary meeting at Clynnog Fawr, 1859, has been pasted on to the pages.

A small notebook containing hymn stanzas, verses on 'Y pla yn y flwyddyn 1849', lines of verse by W.B. 'sef William Bifan y Gadlys Plwyf Llanwnda' and Hugh Jones, ['Gwyndaf Ieuanc'] Penygroes, Llanwnda, and 'englynion' by [David Davies] 'Tremlyn', one to Evan Jones, Moria, 1890. At the reverse end are notes in the autograph of John Jones ['Myrddin Fardd'] headed 'Hen Ddywediadau - Gwerin-eiriau', with some press cuttings.

A small account-book containing a transcript of manuscript autobiographical material of Richard Robert Jones ('Dic Aberdaron')(cf. NLW Deposit 324A). Loose in the volume is a note from John Jones ('Myrddin Fardd'), Chwilog to a Mr Davies enquiring about its price as everything relating to 'Dic Aberdaron' is valuable to him. At the reverse end are notes by D[avi]d Davies [cf. Cwrtmawr MS 519], who may be the transcriber of the Dic Aberdaron material. There are also some verses said to be by Josiah Hughes, Trefynon [sic] and John Elias, Môn written in another hand and pasted into the volume.

A volume containing pen and wash plans and drawings under the title 'History of the British Camps Tomens Cromlechs and Meini Hirion in the district of Lleyn and Eifionydd'. Facing the title is a 'Map showing the Sites of the British Camps Tomens & Cromlechs in the districts of Lleyn and Eifionydd' but there is no key to the numbers on the map. Some of the captions towards the end of the volume are in the autograph of John Jones ('Myrddin Fardd'). There are one or two inserts, etc.

A composite notebook labelled 'Gwaith Wiliam Elias, &c.' containing transcripts by John Jones ('Myrddin Fardd') of 'englynion', 'cywyddau', etc. largely by or relating to William Elias (1708-87) [Plas-y-glyn, Llanfwrog, Anglesey]. The poets represented in addition to William Elias are D(afydd) Parry, Michael Prichard, J. R. ('Englynion i annerch Owen Gruffydd', etc.), Ed. Morus, Owen Gruffydd and Thomas Edwards ('Cywydd Marwnad i'r Canmoladwy a'r Anrhydeddus ddiweddar William Elias'). There is also a note on Peniarth MS 201 ('Allan o Ysgriflyfr Peniarth [i.e. Hengwrt]. -Rhif 188'). Loose papers comprise a copy of the gravestone inscription of William Elias and his wife, 'Cerdd i Ddiolch i Fachgen o Landwrog am Fenthyg Llyfr Notes', together with some 'englynion' (in pencil), and a leaf from Eurgrawn Mon, 1825, pp. 14[7]-8 (see The Letters of Goronwy Owen, ed. J. H. Davies (Cardiff, 1924), pp. 203-4). Another loose item, a folio from an eighteenth century manuscript, has been restored to its place at the beginning of Wynnstay MS 7.

A notebook marked 'Copy No 1' containing an account of the hundred of Eifionydd followed by the beginning of an account of the hundred of Llŷn or Lleyn and a note on 'Dinas a Llys Dinorwig' by Peter Bayley Williams, Llanrug (cf. Y Gwyliedydd, 1835, 310), this last in the autograph of John Jones ('Myrddin Fardd'). The material on Eifionydd bears a resemblance to 'Hanes Eifionydd' by W. Jones ('Bleddyn'), Llangollen (see Y Geninen, 1883, p. 59; 1884, pp. 69, 300) but the hand is probably that of 'Myrddin Fardd' at an early period of his life. Loose inside, pasted on a card, is a press-cutting concerning Enwau Lleoedd Sir Gaernarfon (see Cwrtmawr MS 564).

A notebook designated 'Copy No. 2' containing brief accounts of Nefyn and Tre'r Ceiri, with notes on Capel Odo, Bettws, Cappel [sic] Angelog, Eglwys Fair and Capel Ergan, etc. At the reverse end is a record of the sermon texts of various preachers at Tremadog chapel, 1809-37 ('Coflyfr o'r Testynau yn Nghapel Tremadog' - the exact dates are not given, only the year), followed by items of poetry including 'Awdl ar Brydferthwch' by [John Edwards] 'Eos Glan Twrch' and 'Awdl ar ddyfodiad teulu Tudur i Orsedd Prydain' by 'Owain Cyfeiliog, Bryn yr Awen, Gorphenaf 15, 1821'. The hand is probably that of John Jones ('Myrddin Fardd') throughout.

An exercise-book marked on the first page 'Copy No. 16' containing transcripts probably by John Jones ('Myrddin Fardd') of poetry by Evan Pritchard ('Ieuan Lleyn'; 1769-1832), with one or two items by John Roberts ('Sion Lleyn'), W[illia]m T[h]omas [?1790-1861] and William Williams. The final item ('Cywydd St. Cowrda' by [Hywel Rheinallt]) has no name appended to it and is incomplete. The poems appear to have been transcribed in separate sections and put together later.
