The contents also include a list headed 'The Names of some of the most Ancient Bards and Historians and the Time wherein [sic] they Flourished'. The lettering on the spine reads 'Llyfr Ieuan Lleyn, 1799' and the volume, except for the last five folios, appears to have been written between 1799 and 1822. The last four folios are partly in the hand of D. Silvan Evans and the folio immediately preceding them is probably earlier in date than 1799 and may belong to Cwrtmawr MS 513B, Part II.

A volume of transcripts of poetry by Dafydd ap Gwilym, together with a few 'englynion' and 'cywyddau' by Wm Morris, G[ruffudd] Grug, Dafydd ap Edmund, Rhys Gôch Glan Ceiriog, Dafydd Nanmor, Iolo Goch, R[obin] Ddu, and some anonymous 'englynion'. The transcripts are taken from UCNW Bangor MS 6. A note by Mary Richards, Darowen on p. 1 ascribes the volume to John William[s], musician ('Cyfansoddwr Tona'), Dolgelley, probably John Williams ('Ioan Rhagfyr') (see Thomas Parry (gol.): Gwaith Dafydd ap Gwilym (Caerdydd, 1952) pp. c1xviii-clxix). At the end of the volume is a table entitled 'Rhannau Monwent Dar-Owen megis y dosparthwyd ag y cyweiriwyd hwynt ar eiriol David Davies vicar yno, gan ddechrau, o barth dwyrain Ty'r Vicar ag felly diwygio oddi amgylch Mai yr 28 1636' (' ... carefully transcribed out of the original by me Lewis Jones Vicar of Darowen' - a Chopiwyd genyf inneu or Terrier Darowen. M. R. Dar[owen]'). Tipped into the volume are a bond, 14 February 1690/1, from David Jones of Cowarch, Merionethshire, gent. to John Thomas Rees of the same, yeoman for the observance of covenants, and a poem in free metre entitled 'Myfyrdod y Parchedig Mr [Roderick] Lewis Periglor Llanbrynmair Uwchben Bedd ei ddiweddar Wraig', 1829. Among a number of items laid on the inside lower cover is Ychydig o gynghorion buddiol i Bobl Ieuainc, Wrth fyned i wasanaeth (Treffynnon, n.d.).

Ll., Ellis Wynne, Dafydd Hepunt (recte Epynt), Dafydd Nanmor, Sion Philip, Edmwnd Prys and Ellis Rowlant, and anonymous poetry, taken from a manuscript of Edward Griffith, Dolgellau, [NLW MS 2692]; and of a free-metre poem ('Cân Boreddydd') taken from a manuscript of D. Silvan Evans and published in Y Genhinen, Vol. II (1884), p. 78. There is a typewritten list of contents at the beginning and the spine is lettered 'Cywyddau'.

'Trysorfa'r Bardd', being a holograph collection of poetry in strict and free metres, almost entirely in Welsh, by David Saunders, otherwise Dafydd ab Domos Saunders, otherwise 'Dafydd Glan Teifi' (1769-1840), Baptist minister successively at Aberdyar, Carmarthenshire and Merthyr Tudful, Glamorganshire. At the beginning is an incomplete address to the reader ('Llythr at y Darllenydd') and a list of contents ('Tabl Cynnwyssiad y Llyfr'). The volume was begun at the author's home at Undergrove [Lampeter, Cardiganshire], Christmas day 1798, and was completed about 1822.

A notebook in the hand of Morris Davies, Bangor containing 'Select Extracts' from printed sources (e.g. the introduction to W. Williams: Caniadau y rhai sydd ar y Môr o Wydr (3ydd arg., 1764); poetry in strict and free metres by [John Jones] 'Tegid', [Daniel Evans] 'Daniel Ddu o Geredigion', Huw Morus, [Thomas Edwards] 'Caerfallwch', Rice Jones [o'r Blaenau] and [David Richards] 'Dafydd Ionawr'; an account of 'The Musical Idiot' in the Salpêtrière at Paris; extracts from William Owen-Pughe: Coll-Gwynfa (Llundain, 1819); and metrical proverbs by 'Richard (Risiart) Dlawd'.

It contains a list of contents and a complete transcript of Peniarth MS 152 ('cywyddau' and 'awdlau' by Gutto'r Glynn, etc.), completed at Rhydycroesau, 21 December 1870; a transcript from Brogyntyn MS 2, with an English translation, of a 'cywydd' by Tudur Penllyn transcribed 2 February 1871; two copies of a 'cywydd' by Sion Kain transcribed from Peniarth MS [116], 14 November 1876, with relevant marginal pedigrees, poetry in strict and free metres by Walter Davies ['Gwallter Mechain'] from 'Cydymeth Ifiengtid; sef Cerddi Cowyddau, ag Englynion tra dewisol na buant yn Argraffedig yr rioed hyd eitha fy ngwibodheth, sef Gwaith amriw rai o brydyddion cymru wedi gasglu gan Dafydd Evans, Llanfihangel, 1785'; 'Cywyddau Cywilyddus o [ffug-]waith Gweyrful Mechain', a 'cywydd' by Tydur Penllyn and 'englynion' by Iorwerth Vynglwyd, from 'Llyfr Hir Llywarch Reynolds' (NLW MS 970) and Llanstephan MS 35; and an incomplete list of contents of Cwrtmawr MS 242. A composite volume made up of fragments of eighteenth century manuscripts containing 'cywyddau', 'awdlau' and englynion' by Dafydd ap Gwilym, Sion Tudyr ('o Wickwar') and Rhys Jones [o'r Blaenau] (holograph), with a few annotations and variants from the manuscripts of D[avid] Johnes [Llanfair Dyffryn Clwyd] and [James Davies] 'Iago ap Dewi'; 'cerddi' and 'penillion' by John Owen and Sir Rees Cadwalader, and anonymous poetry. Among the pastedowns is a voucher to the Reverend David Richards from M. Monk, Chester Courant Office in respect of a Cymmrodorion Society [in Powys] advertisement, 1820-3.

A carelessly compiled collection of 'cerddi' and 'penillion' written for the most part by David Morris, Llanwddyn during the period 1778-84. The majority of the poems are anonymous but a few are attributed to Hugh Morris, David Morris, Humphrey Jones, Griffith Evans, Thomas Edwards ('Twm o'r Nant') (1783), ?David Owen (Ceuna[n]t Coch) and David Llwyd ('o Gowny'). Also included in the volume are a few miscellaneous entries such as a notice of letting of Tynykiln, parish of Llanvehangel, Montgomeryshire, 1778; undated accounts; signatures of Thomas Jones (Cownu), David Davies ('Y Wevar'), etc.; receipts from David Morris, 1779; etc.

The spine is lettered 'Llyfr J. Morris - I'.

A late eighteenth century manuscript in the hand of John Morris containing a collection of 'carolau' and 'cerddi' by Jonathan Hughes, Llangollen, together with a 'cerdd' and a 'carol' by Daniel Jones, and a carol each by Jo[h]n Edw[ard]s (Glyn Cei[rio]g) and Arthur Jones. All the poems by Jonathan Hughes are included in the author's Bardd a Byrddau (y Mwythig, 1778). At the beginning of the volume is 'Bannau yr llyfyr hwn', being a table of titles and first lines, and the numbers of verses, of each carol. Paste-downs on the inside upper and lower covers contain a note and an 'englyn' by D[afydd] M[orris], Llanfair [Caereinion], 1868, etc.

A composite volume comprising two notebooks originally used by the Reverend Thomas Richards (1754-1837) for personal and family memoranda and accounts (mainly 1821-37) of debts, wages paid to female servants, tithes, provisions, payments of interest and repayments of debts. It also includes accounts, 1816-24, between H. L. Eddes Gwynne and the Reverend Thomas Richards relating to Hirnant rents.
