Papers, 1745-1905, relating mainly to the Leach family of Corston and Ivy Tower, Pembrokeshire, the collection being largely composed of accounts, sale books, rentals and other details of estate management, together with material relating to family wills and personal estate. Amongst the material not directly relating to Corston and Ivy Tower are a late eighteenth century commonplace book belonging to Thomasina Smith (afterwards wife of Abraham Leach of Corston); a log book, 1864-1867, of Robert Owen Leach, commanding officer of HMS Liverpool; and army message books, 1901, kept by Captain Henry Edmund Burleigh Leach whilst serving in the South African War.

A manuscript volume, [1747x1748], written by an unidentified scribe, entitled 'A Catalogue of the Representatives in Parliament for the Counties & Boroughs In Wales From the first returns of them A[nn]o 1542 to this present Parliament Conven[e]d A[nn]o 1747' (f. 4), listing the Members of Parliament of all county and borough seats in Wales, with the exception of Monmouthshire and Monmouth (ff. 5-62).
The seats are listed alphabetically by county with MPs then listed chronologically by monarch and regnal year; the Parliaments of the Commonwealth and Protectorate periods are omitted.

A journal of John Griffith (1713-1776) of co. Radnor and Pennsylvania, Quaker, recording his voyage from America to England, 1747-1748 (ff. 2-13, 67v); his itinerary of England and Wales, visiting Quaker meetings and including a visit to his mother in co. Radnor, 1748-1750 (ff. 14-35); his return voyage to America, 1750 (ff. 55-62v, 35v-7v); his second voyage to England, 1750 (ff. 38-54); and personal memoranda (ff. 63v-7, 68r-v). The writer describes his detention at Bayonne (f. 7r-v) and Dax in France in December 1747, his ship having been seized by a French privateer off San Sebastian, and comments upon the superstitions and religious customs of the inhabitants (ff. 7v-11v). Much of the contents of the manuscript was later used in his autobiography, A journal of the life, travels, and labours ... of John Griffith (London, 1779).

A manuscript volume, 1750-1758, compiled by Henry Young, perhaps of Tregaron, Cardiganshire, containing commonplace entries including notes on astronomy, astrology, physiology, weather lore (ff. 1 verso-3 verso) and Biblical and historical material, amongst which are extracts from R. B., The History of the nine worthies of the world (London: printed for Nath. Crouch..., 1687, STC C7337). Also included are model letters, extracts from poems by John Gay (ff. 6 verso, 30) and Alexander Pope (ff. 33 verso-35), valentines and other verse, medical and cookery recipes and recipes for ink and gilding, together with many related drawings and decorations in ink and polychrome.

Account book, 1754-1756, of Charles Cope Trubshaw, architect, builder and mason, relating to work carried out mostly in Staffordshire.
The volume contains accounts, with notes and memoranda, January 1754-February 1756 (ff. 1-70); and estimates, notes and sketched designs and plans for specific projects, 1754-1755 (ff. 70 verso-103, inverted text). There are numerous references to the building of the new parish church at Stone, Staffordshire (ff. 6-89 passim). A few additional items are loose within the volume (ff. 73a, 105) or have been tipped in (f. 104).

A transcript of two letters written by Lord George Lyttelton (1709-1773) from Brynkir, 6 July 1755, and from Shrewsbury, 14 July 1755, describing a tour in North Wales.

The diary, 1756-1760, of John Thomas, Tre-main, co. Cardigan, a teacher at Griffith Jones's Circulating Schools, recording his spiritual pilgrimage and including an account of his conversion experience in 1757 (ff. 33-5) as well as his soul-searching in response to some four hundred and seventy sermons by Daniel Rowland, William Williams, Howel Davies, Peter Williams, John Popkin, Richard Tibbott, William Richard and other Methodist clergy and exhorters. Also included are autobiographical notes (ff. 21 verso-5) and transcripts of letters from the hymnist Morgan Rhys (ff. 41, 87 verso-8 verso). The diary has been transcribed by John Thickens and published in Y Drysorfa, 101-3 (1931-1933) and Cylchgrawn Cymdeithas Hanes Eglwys Methodistiaid Calfinaidd Cymru, 56 (1971) and 57 (1972). Three letters, 1909, to the Reverend Gwilym Lewis, rector of Aber, co. Caernarfon, from 1925, found loose inside the volume, have been tipped in (ff. 103-8).

Papers, [1756]-1854, of the Evans family of Trefayog and Cilau-wen, Pembrokeshire, comprising largely of accounts and rentals relating to Cilau-wen and Trefayog estates and ship's accounts and log books kept by members of the Evans family who went to sea; together with a diary, sermons, exercise books, etc.

A collection of miscellaneous letters and papers, 1757-1993, purchased or received by donation from various sources by the National Library of Wales during the period June 2008-May 2013 and boxed as one volume.
