A volume containing sermons written by the Reverend Thomas Rees, D. D. (1815-1885) and delivered at Craigybargoed, 25 September 1836, 17 September 1837, etc.; the volume also contains personal memoranda, including a list of books owned by Thomas Rees in 1837.

Cofrestr Capel Mynyddbach, Llandeilo

A volume containing the register, 18 cent., of Mynyddbach Congregational Chapel, Llandeilo, including names of members, baptisms, deaths, accounts, etc.; this is a valuable document and is numbered in folios. The first 38 pages of the volume were apparently written by members of the Christmas family and includes an account of the marriage of David and Jemima Christmas in 1808, together with the names of their children; it is possible that this initial section was sewn into the latter portion when the book came into the possession of David Christmas.

Baptismal register of Craig y Bargoed Chapel

The register of baptisms at Craig y Bargoed Chapel from 9 November 1831 to 14 November 1838, the ministers officiating being the Reverend J. Jones (9 November 1831-27 September 1835) and the Reverend Thomas Rees, D.D. (1815-1885) (18 September 1836-14 November 1838); at the other end of the book are notes relating to a sermon on Romans X.14 in the hand of Thomas Rees.

An index to the first edition of the History of Protestant Nonconformity (London, 1861) in the hand of the author, Reverend Thomas Rees, D.D. (1815-1885). At the other end of the book is a list of those received into church membership at Carmel, Cendl from June 1849, also in the hand of Thomas Rees.

A volume written by Edward Jones (Bardd y Brenin) (1752-1824) and William Jones, Llangadfan (1726-1795) containing transcripts on the history and technical aspects of Welsh music, poetry, cerdd dant, etc., with transcribed examples of poetry. The volume also includes a letter from William Salesbury to Gruffydd Hiraethog (pp. 32-35), notes relating to William Salesbury (p. 35), and accounts of figures and events from Welsh history and legend.

Reverend Thomas Rees: Statistics of Independent churches

A volume containing statistics of the Welsh Independent churches for the year 1861 collected by the Reverend Thomas Rees, D.D. (1815-1885); the book also includes a list of dissenters in Breconshire, 1673, extracts from various sources and from the Cilgwyn church book, and notices of various Nonconformist ministers. At the other end of the book, in the hand of Thomas Rees, are Welsh hymns, extracts from various sources, a poem by the Reverend Samuel Jones, Brynllywarch, and a list of dissenting Protestant ministers in Wales, with their dates of ordination and deaths.

Papers and documents relating to the Reverend Moses Ellis, Congregational minister of Mynydd Islwyn, Monmouth (1798-1866); the material is mounted on thick paper and includes the Reverend Ellis's licence to preach, dated 7 October 1819 (p. 3), his call to Talybont Chapel, 1 June 1823 (p. 5) and his ordination certificate (p. 5). Also in the collection are prayers and covenants (pp. 7-13) and letters (pp. 15-19), including one from a minister - possibly Moses Ellis - giving up his pastorate (p. 17) and letters relating to the Reverend Ellis's second marriage (p. 19).

Petitions to the managers of the Congregational Fund

A volume containing letters and petitions addressed to the managers of the Congregational Fund by various churches, ministers and students from Wales between 1769 and 1811. In most cases, the appeals are for grants to help either impecunious ministers or students wishing to proceed to one or other of the Nonconformist Academies; in the case of students a sketch of his 'Articles of religious belief' is usually appended.

(1815-1885), including a lecture by Dr Rees entitled Welsh Dissent, its History, its present state and prospects (pp. 1-6) and copies of letters, 1738-1739, addressed to Howel Harris of Trevecca by David Williams of Pwllypant; at the other end of the volume is a list of subscribers to the History of Protestant Nonconformity in Wales.
