Plans and elevations (miscellaneous counties)

The series comprises plans and elevations of buildings and other structures, presumably on or near the Garn estate, mostly unlabelled, some with measurements, relevant notes and correspondence attached, [c. 1811]-1835.

Plasnewydd trust papers

The file comprises papers relating to Plasnewydd and the property of Mary Wynne, including a rental of her estate, 1783, an abstract of deeds, 1791, valuations, accounts, bills and receipts, 1795-1826, an agreement for the sale of Plasnewydd to Sarah Heaton, 1807, and legal papers concerning administration and debts, 1806, 1814-1843, together with a copy of her will, 1803, and several codicils, 1805-1812. The accounts show general outgoings, and highlight such problems as the shortage of available funds for the education and maintenance of young William Wynne and for paying legacies due to him; one account of 1814 shows total debts of over £30,000 on the estate.

Poetry, essays and other compositions

The series comprises original compositions and copies of works both published and unpublished, written in English, Welsh and Latin, consisting of poems, translations, essays and stories about contemporary and historical events and local figures, [1660]-1925, a script for a public address, [1834], and suggestions for a commemorative inscription, 1815.

Premises in Gwaun Dwysog, Henllan

The file comprises deeds of a messuage in Gwaun Dwysog in the township of Twysog, which was sold by John Joyce, Thomas Lewis, John Owen of Mold and John Owen of Oswestry to Edward Corser, Clementina Radcliffe and Grace Wynne of Holywell in 1791. In the same year it was sold on to Edward Jones of Tythyn Issa, Henllan, with an assignment in trust by Samuel Small of a 1000 year term (existing as a result of a previous mortgage). John Wynne Griffith of Garn purchased the property in 1815, adding to the lands which his grandfather, John Griffith (2), had purchased in Gwaun Dwysog more than sixty years previously.
