A manuscript in the autograph of Roger Morris, Coed-y-talwrn containing anecdotes, extracts from the Black Book of Carmarthen ('Amravael bethau a gopiuyd or lyfyr du o gaer Vyrdin'), 'Credo Taliessin o lyvyr aral', proverbial sayings ('Ni uyr ni uyl, ni uyl ni dysc'), lines attributed to Tal Iessin ('Na fid escud dy lau ar lu anudon'), 'Kas bethau guyr Rhufain', one or two triads, two Welsh religious plays (not one as suggested in R.W.M), viz. ['Y Dioddefaint'], pp. 41-73, and 'Traul y 3 brenin i anrhegu Crist' [or 'Y Tri Brenin o Gwlen'], pp .73-80 (see Gwenan Jones, A Study of three Welsh religious plays (Bala, 1939) p. 12 et passim), some pedigrees ('Rhai or Guehelaethau'), 'Araeth Wgon', instructions concerning table manners ('Am voes ac arver yu hynn o ymdidan'), 'Henue 15 luyth Guyned o lyfr Humphre ap hoel o Ruthyn',etc., a Life of Saint Martin in Welsh [cf. The remainder is in several hands of the late seventeenth or early eighteenth century. There are copious annotations by William Maurice and some additions and annotations by Cadwaladr Dafydd, Llanymowddwy (1747) and L[ewis] Morris ('Llewelyn Ddu o Fôn', 1701-65).

An imperfect manuscript lettered 'Llyfr Tesni' containing astrological and other texts and tables, such as 'llyma y XII Arwydd', 'helynt yr wybyr' ('devddeg gwynt y sydd'), 'Arwyddion' based on the incidence of thunder within each month, 'llyma Rifedi yr hyn sydd, o orie ymhob mis or flwyddyn', 'llyma glandyr a elwir treiad ymryson', a table for the years 1690-1794 indicating the golden number ('prif') and dominical letter ('llythyren y Svl'), 'devddec mis sydd yn y flwyddyn', 'englynion ir prifiav ysydd yn y misoedd hyny', a table of the cycle of the sun and the moon, 'Brevddwidion y lloer yn ol llyfr y gwybodeth', 'Era Pater', 'Englynion y Misoedd' by Aneirin gwawdydd ('yn llys Maelgwyn gwynedd Brenin Brytaniaid'), 'Englynion yr Eira Mynydd' by Mabgloch ab Llowarch hen, 'Cowydd ir ffenix' by Sion Phylip, 'devddeg gair gwir', 'Cowydd ir devddeg gair gwir, by Thomas ap Evan (1629), and 'llyma henwav y brenhinoedd a farnwyd yn ore or brytaniaid ... 24 sydd o honynt. The volume was written by Richard 'ysgripiwr' (the scribe) during the period January ? 1691/2 - April 1692; in addition, some recipes (for ink, how to write with gold) in an 18th century hand.

A composite volume compiled by Owen Williams, Fronheulog, Waunfawr in 1857. It comprises: I. 'Y Gronfa' (pp. 1-200), largely in the hand of David Thomas ('Dafydd Ddu Eryri'), containing an introduction ('Y Rhagymadrodd') signed 4 October 1790; an English translation by D[avid] T[homas] of two lines of poetry by Gwalchmai; 'Cyfieithiad o Awdl Sibli (Sibyl's Ode, translated by the Revd. Gor[onwy] Owen)' ('See the above, versified in D. Thomas's poetical collection'); etymons of Mr Jones of Llanegryn, Mr L. Morris, and D. Tho[ma]s; extracts from letters from the Revd. Gor[onwy] Owen to Mr Richard Morris of the Navy Office, London, 1753-67; Welsh poetry by Bleddyn, Gwgon, Taliesin, Cynddelw [Brydydd Mawr], 'Guttun Gwrecsam' ('sef John Edwards neu Sion Ceiriog now dead'), Rhisiart Jones 'o Fôn, Syr Thomas Jones ('Iechyd i Galon yr hen offeiriad O na bai Gant o'i fath ynghymru y dydd heddyw'), Hywel ap Reinallt, Llywelyn Goch ap Meurig Hen (with a translation by Evan Evans ['Ieuan Fardd']), Hywel ap Dafydd ap Ieuan ap Rhys, Thomas Celli, Tudur Aled, D[avid] Thomas, Owen Williams (Waunfawr) (c.1820), Rhys Jones 'o'r Blaenau', and Goronwy Owen; English poetry by Alexander Pope, John Dyer, and Thomas Gray; anecdotes and biographical notes relating to Gruffydd Hiraethog, William Phylip, Sion Tudur, William Lleyn, etc.; 'Athrawiaeth y Gorphwysiadau', being rules of punctuation, copied in 1809 ('not intended for public inspection'); observations in verse on 'Barddoniaeth Gymreig', for publication in the North Wales Gazette, 1818; a holograph letter from D. The compiler has included a few cover papers from manuscripts of 'Dafydd Ddu Eryri' bearing such inscriptions as 'This Morrisian MS (with some others) I found at a Farmhouse called Braint near Penmynydd, Anglesey, Sept. 9th 1793. D. Thomas' (p. 123) and 'This MSS (with several others) has been bequethed to me, by the Rev. David Ellis, late Rector of Cruccaith in Caernarvonshire. D. Thomas' (p. 189). Ii. Iii. Inset are three leaves containing transcripts of a letter from Edmund Francis to [ ] (the writer's health, the recipient's preaching engagement) (incomplete) and of a letter from D. Thomas ['Dafydd Ddu Eryri'] to [John Roberts, 'Siôn Lleyn'], 1810 (the sale of the writer's [Corph y Gaingc]). Written on the inside lower cover is a long note by O[wen] Williams, Fronheulog, Waunfawr, 1857, of which the following is an extract, - 'Myfi a gesglais gynhwysedd y llyfr hwn o'r hen ysgrifiau a ddaeth i'm dwylaw oeddynt eiddo Dafydd Ddu Eryri ac a delais am eu rhwymo yn nghyd megys y gwelir yma er's llawer o flynyddoedd yn ol ...'.

A manuscript containing a transcript of the text of 'Y Gododdin', in old and modern orthography; an adjudication by Owen Jones ('Owain Myfyr') and Rob[er]t Hughes ('Robin Ddu o Fôn') on an elegy to Mr [Richard] Morys, President of the Honourable Society of Cymrodorion; 'Awdl ar y Testyn Jubili Mor-glawdd Tre' Fadog' by Dafydd Thomas ('D[afydd] Ddu o Eryri'), 1811; and 'Beirniadaeth Gymreig' being reviews ('Ad-olwg') by D. Thomas ('o Arfon'), 1812, of 'Awdl ar Amaethyddiaeth' by Walter Davies ['Gwallter Mechain'] and a similar composition by Edwd. Hughes ['Y Dryw'], both submitted to an eisteddfod at Tre' Fadog, 1811. The text of the 'Gododdin' is in the hand of David Ellis (1736-95), vicar of Cricieth, and the remainder of the manuscript in the hand of David Thomas ('Dafydd Ddu Eryri', 1759-1822).
