The file comprises a manuscript draft by David Jones written mainly in pencil of material relating to the typescript text of The Anathemata. Part of this material comprises lists of the sections into which the text is divided (ff.1-4). There is also a list of illustrations (f. 5), drafts of an intended insertion in the introduction (ff. 6-10), a list of corrections to the typescript text (ff. 11-12) and a list of queries (f. 13). The remainder is material relating to notes on the text.

The file comprises a manuscript in black ink, pencil and red crayon, of material relating to The Anathemata at the proof stage. There is a list of illustrations (ff.1-6), corrections to the galley and page proofs (ff. 7-25 and 26-33) together with a typescript list of proof-reader's queries (f. 33).

The file comprises Harman Grisewood's copy of The Changing World, No.1, Summer 1947 which contains 'Art and Democracy' by David Jones with manuscript amendments by him; and also a proof copy of Harman Grisewood's review of The Anathemata which appeared in The Dublin Review, pages 80-85.

The file comprises a letter from Elizabeth Pakenham, April 1953, to David Jones which prompted his essay 'Art and Sacrament', a draft letter to Lady Pakenham from David Jones, and three manuscript pages which are the beginning of the essay. The essay was written in 1953 and first published in Catholic Approaches in 1955.

The file mostly comprises unwritten postcards, many with a religious theme, depicting artworks, sculpture, places, museum pieces, and churches, with a pack of 19 small photographs from Sienna, and a postcard of soldiers in Flanders.

The file comprises letters to David Jones from John Petts, Myra Owen and others of The Arts Council of Great Britain mainly relating to exhibitions in Scotland, at the Tate gallery, the Festival of Britain, CEMA exhibition Wales in Aberystwyth and Swansea (1954), and the exhibition of contemporary Welsh painting and sculpture in Cardiff, Wrexham, Bangor, Aberystwyth and Swansea (1961).
