The monasteries, churches, and castles are arranged alphabetically under counties, and particulars are given of the dates of foundation, of the situation of the monastic houses, and of the orders to which they belonged. The List of Monastic Cartularies was drawn up by Sir Thomas Phillipps, Bt., and is printed in Collectanea Topographica et Genealogica, Vol. I, 1834. The volume also includes a 'List of monastic churches still made use of for Divine Service' taken from The Gentleman's Magazine, 1814.

The press cuttings have been pasted in a book containing an incomplete essay on the early history of Britain and a list of Caernarvon residents.
