Copies and transcripts of letters by W. Llewelyn Williams to various correspondents, 1894-1922, accumulated by Neville C. Masterman, [1970]-[2005]. The file includes letters to his brother, Thomas Williams, John Morris Jones, T. E. Ellis and T. Huws Davies, concerning both personal and professional matters. Some of the Welsh letters have been translated into English. Originals of most of the letters are held at NLW, and in such cases the NLW call numbers of the original letters have been noted on the copies.

Articles by W. Llewelyn Williams, 1919-[2005], including photocopies of manuscript drafts of articles on Disestablishment and the First World War; copies of his introductions to James Anthony Froude's volumes on the Tudors; and copies of various other articles on Disestablishment, the Great War and T. E. Ellis, M.P. for Meirionethshire and Liberal Chief Whip. The file also includes the booklet 'Ballads of Wales', 1919, given as a gift to his nephew, D. Morgan Evans.

Most of the letters, 1892-1916, are devoted to the writer's researches, writings and editing of Wales, Y Llenor, Heddyw and Cymru for which he solicits contributions from the pen of J. H. Davies. Several letters refer to the death of Thomas Edward Ellis in April 1899, the preparation of his biography and the erection of a memorial statue at Bala. Others relate to J. H. Davies's application for the position of Registrar of the University College of Wales, Aberystwyth, and some to Edwards's duties as Chief Inspector of Schools in Wales.

Lord Rosebery [Archibald Philip Primrose, 5th earl]: Robert Burns ... (Edinburgh, 1896), being a vellum-bound presentation copy by the author to D. R. Daniel (marked 'For the sake of Tom Ellis ...'), and a covering letter from 'Tom' [Thomas E. Ellis] to David [R. Daniel] which is bound in the volume.

Sixty-five holograph and autograph letters and postcards, and telegrams, 1888-1913 and undated, addressed to David Robert Daniel (1859-1931) of Fourcrosses, Chwilog, Caernarvonshire. The writers include a circular, 1904, issued by the North Wales Quarries Ltd; P[eredur] Ll. Daniel, London, his son, undated; [Robert Evans] ('Cybi'), Llangybi, undated; [E.] Vincent Evans, London, 1913?; [Henry] Harold Hughes, Bangor, 1903-06; and The North Wales Quarrymen's Union, Caernarvon, undated. Also included in the group are three holograph letters, 1888-1905, from D. R. Daniel to his wife Sara and to his mother Jane; a holograph letter, undated, from Sara [Daniel] to her mother at Llandderfel; a grand jury summons for the General Quarter Sessions of the Peace for Caernarvonshire, addressed to D. R. Daniel,1905; vouchers, certificates of bank credits, etc. of D. R. Daniel, 1904-13; and other holograph letters which include one to [H. J. Three fragments mainly containing material in the hand of Morgan Llwyd: a) Sheets out of a notebook containing notes of sermons, one of which is said to have been delivered by 'Mr. Lloyd' [?Morgan Llwyd]. b) A copy (2 pp.) of the verses of lamentation and resolution by the Welsh saints, 1643, comprising ten out of the twenty verses printed by T. E. Ellis in Gweithiau Morgan Llwyd (Bangor, 1899), vol. I, pp. 3-6, in the following order - 1, 2, 5, 6, 3, 9, 8, 7, 14, 18; a version, in the hand of Morgan Llwyd, of the first nine stanzas of a 'Thanksgiving song for Wrexham delivered from pest' (Gweithiau, vol. I, pp. 12-13); notes by Morgan Llwyd, including drafts of sermons, and a list of names (Ens. Roberts, Howell Thom., Ben. Rich., Walt. Thimble., Hugh Prich.) headed by a cancelled sentence - 'who should have the booke of my verse'; twenty-two stanzas beginning 'The lord is kind and merciful ...' in the hand of Morgan Llwyd, being apparently a draft of a poem or of a series of poems by him; thirteen stanzas based on Canticles, in the hand of Morgan Llwyd, ten roughly corresponding to those printed in E. Lewis Evans: Morgan Llwyd (Lerpwl, 1930), pp. 176-8, stanzas 11 and 12 corresponding respectively to 4 and 5 in Ellis: Gweithiau, vol. I, p. 10, and stanza 5 being possibly the basis of stanza 3 in Gweithiau; a transcript of the Canticle verses in another hand; a draft, in the hand of Morgan Llwyd, of the poem 'Hanes rhyw Gymro' (Gweithiau, vol. I, pp. 57-60); and a copy of verse xxviii in Gweithiau, p. 61. c) Draft translations of psalms by Morgan Llwyd. The translations are incomplete, and many stanzas have been cancelled. There are verses translated from Psalms 19, 37, 44-46, 121-122, and 126.

An album compiled by John Lloyd James ('Clwydwenfro'), Congregational minister at March, Cambridgeshire, etc. The volume is almost wholly of Congregational interest, and relates for the most part to Glandwr Church, Pembrokeshire, and to the activities of John Davies ('Siôn Gymro' otherwise 'Siôn Llethi' otherwise 'Ioan Llethi'), who was ordained minister of the church in 1827.
