Original bundle of deeds and documents relating to the manor of Cyfeiliog, Montgomeryshire, [c. 1674]-1920. It includes a late eighteenth century copy of a grant by Wenwynwyn, son of Owain Cyfeiliog, to the Abbey of Ystrad Marchell, 1201; legal papers relating to the payment of amercements for sheep held in the pinfold at Tafolwern and for the erection of a cottage [1670s]; leases and agreements by William Pughe of Mathafarn, of lead mines in the parishes of Llanbryn-mair, Darowen and Penegoes, 1712-1715, with memoranda on the same, 1920, and a demise by William Pughe to John Lloyd of Aberllefenni and others, of the manor of Cyfeiliog, to satisfy the payment of debts, 1696, revoked 1706.
‘Deeds relating to the manor of Deytheur’
Bundle labelled ‘Deeds relating to the manor of Deytheur and containing a description of the boundaries of the Manor of Deytheur’. It does contain the said description of the manor of Deuddwr, 1821, and an abstract of title of William Harry Earl of Darlington and Henry Viscount Barnard to estates in Montgomeryshire, 1743-1813 (Watermark 1821). The bundle also contains two copies of an appointment by Mary Jane Ormsby Gore to the trustees of the will of Ellen Owen, of the estates in Mayo, Roscommon and Sligo in Ireland, for securing the sum of £5000, 1816.
