Designs and trials for lettering on bindings, apparently for books not published by the Gregynog Press, but including items connected with music- making at Gregynog, and perhaps commissioned by the Misses Davies, amongst them covers for R. Vaughan Willliams, Toward the Unknown Region, and Benedicite for Soprano Solo, Chorus and Orchestra; H. Walford Davies, Men and Angels and High Heaven's King, Edward Elgar, The Music Makers; John [ sic] Sebastian Bach, Mass in B Minor and The Passion according to Saint Matthew; and Gustav Holst, Ode on a Grecian Urn. Also included are two offcuts of brown calf presumably used for Gregynog bindings.

Initial letters drawn by Alfred Fairbank and signed by him, together with trial pulls and draft designs by Fairbank for opening of text; designs for special binding, including trials for lettering on spine.
