Financial accounts

Copies of annual financial reports and interim statements, comprising the accounts of the League and of each of its constituent branches, together with Treasurer's reports and associated letters and notes, as well as a description of the financial operation of the League and also notes made by the Treasurer for his own administrative use. Many of the reports were submitted at the League's Annual General Meetings.

Carn magazine sales

Invoices, remittance slips, tables, lists, letters and notes relating to the production, distribution and sale of Carn magazine.

Co-Operative Bank

Bank statements relating to the League's account with the Co-Operative Bank, together with correspondence between Roy Green and the bank concerning the League's account and his own personal accounts.

Correspondence with the General Secretary

Correspondence between Roy Green as Treasurer and a series of General Secretaries, including Alan Heusaff, Bernard Moffatt and Davyth Fear, concerning a wide range of subjects relating to the League's finances, organisation, campaigns and internal politics at both central and branch level, especially the sale and distribution of Carn, as well as personal and social matters, together with related circulars.

Branch newsletter

Copies of the Cornwall Branch newsletter (at one time named ‘An Resor’), with related memoranda, notes and press cuttings.

Bank accounts

Records concerning the Branch's accounts with Lloyds Bank, including statements, chequebooks, forms and letters.

Correspondence

Correspondence between the Branch Treasurer and other Branch officials, especially the Secretary, concerning financial administration, the Branch bank account, membership subscriptions, sales of publications and merchandise, financial problems and related matters, as well as subjects relating to the administration of the Celtic League more generally.

Chairman's papers

Papers accumulated by the committee Chairman, comprising agendas and minutes of meetings, reports, correspondence, forms, circulars, notes, newsletters, brochures, leaflets, receipts, songbooks, prospectuses, programmes and press cuttings relating especially to Cornwall's participation in the annual Pan Celtic Festival in Killarney, Ireland (including organisation, fundraising, performances, meetings at the festival, and the festival's constitution), and also meetings of the Celtic Congress in most of the Celtic countries, as well as the administration of the Cornish Branch of the Celtic Congress, and some papers relating to matters particular to Cornwall (notably the Cornish language).

Correspondence, newsletters, memoranda, circulars, articles, reports, press releases, agendas of meetings, notes, forms, leaflets, drawings and press cuttings relating to political movements, journals and organisations in Cornwall and the other Celtic countries, including the Celtic League (especially the Man branch), Mebyon Kernow, An Weryn, the Cornish Social and Economic Research Group, the Stannary parliament, Free Cornwall, the Connolly Association, the Irish Democrat, the Shetland movement, and Manx Republican Socialists.

Articles and letters for publication

Drafts and copies of manuscript articles and letters on subjects including geography, history, politics, economics, industrial relations, education, culture and minority languages, with special reference to Cornwall, the Soviet Union and eastern Europe, written by Roy Green, often in his capacity as a representative of the Communist Party, with the intention of having them published in journals (including The Western Morning News, The Morning Star, The West Briton, The Cornish Chough, The Camborne-Redruth Packet, Carn, Cronycla Kernewek ha'n Newodhow Keltek, The Diggers of Albion Newsletter, The Cornish Nation, The Cornish Communist, The Country Standard and An Weryn), together with correspondence between some of Green's communist associates in Cornwall and the press concerning the same matters, and related press cuttings.

Correspondence of the Secretary of the Wales Branch (including that of Merfyn Phillips after his resignation), and also of the Secretary of the Dyfed Area, with each other and with other officials and members of the League, the press, Members of Parliament, Dyfed County Council, Llandudoch Community Council, Cymdeithas yr Iaith Gymraeg, the Duchy of Cornwall, the Arts Council of Great Britain, the National Trust, the Celtica project, British Telecom, Sealink Stena Line, the European Commission's Department of Lesser Used Languages, prospective members of the League and others concerning the League's activities and concerns, notably the issue of linguistic authenticity in the Cornish language and the dispute concerning it which involved the Wales Branch and the Cornwall Branch and resulted in reassessment of the League's constitution and the resignation of the Secretary of the Wales Branch, as well as the use of Celtic languages by public bodies and businesses (with particular reference to the Welsh Language Bill), the proposed twinning of Llandudoch with Tredarzek in Brittany, Carn (content, design, publication and sales), the finances of the Wales Branch, the Celtica project in Machynlleth, claims of imbalance in press reporting, a proposed dictionary of modern Cornish, the European Economic Community, Irish politics, a proposed Cornish Arts Council, membership of the League, and social events, together with reports, agendas, minutes and resolutions of central and branch meetings of the League, the constitutions of both the League and the Dyfed Branch, circulars, newsletters, articles, copies of Carn, membership accounts and receipts, and associated notes, press cuttings and ephemera.
