Manuscript containing the end of Sion Kent's cywydd i'r Drindod; Kowydd i'r byd by Sr Owen ab Gwilim; Cowydd ir Iesv by Huw Lewis; englynion "in comendation of a booke called Perl mewn adfyd" by Huw Lewis; three stanzas of a poem by Mr Richard Hughes ("yn amser y Powder treason"); an englyn to Gryffydd Byner by Sion Klewedog; an incomplete copy of Prognostication Sion Tvdvr; and anonymous englynion. The name of William Elias "shooe maker Aperentis in bettws bach" is written on the last page.

The manuscript is written in several hands mostly during the first years of the eighteenth century. It contains a large number of poems, including carolau plygain, by Hugh Morris, and some by David Evans o Ledyrod, Cadwaladr Robert, Sion Hugh o Dregeiriog, and Thomas Prys.

The greater part of the manuscript is in the autograph of Owen Gruffydd of Llanystumdwy, and contains a large number of his poems. There are copies also of cywyddau, englynion, tribanau and dyriau by the following poets:-

In addition to poetry the volume also contains some prose - extracts from Welsh bardic grammars, triads, a short Welsh vocabulary A-Y, and pedigrees of North Wales families.

This manuscript belonged to William Elias who was an agent to the Wynnes of Glynllifon, and a great deal of it was written by him from 1726 to 1743. Pages 136-70 were written by Michael Prichard of Llanllyfni, 10 Feb. 1727/8. The volume contains copies of poems - englynion cywyddau, dyriau - by Edward Morys, Ellis Rowland, Ellis Wynne, Evan William, D. Parry, Dafydd Gwilim, Humphrey Owen, Huw Morys, Humphrey ab Davidd ab Evan clochydd Llan brenn mair, Hugh Lloyd Cynfel, Isaac Humphrey, John Rhydderch, John Tudur, John Roger, Michael Prichard, Owen Gruffydd, Richard Phylip, John Phylip, William Philip, Richard William clochydd Llanllyfni, Mr Robert Lloyd o'r Garth, Robert ap Howel ap Morgan, Roland Vaughan, Rhys Goch o'r Yri, Thomas Prys o Blas Iolyn, William Elias, William Wynne o'r Ragatt, William Cynwal, William Llyn, Y wraig o Faesneyodd, etc. There are a few English verses including englynion in English by Roland Vaughan. Prose and miscellaneous items include triads, a table of interest, proverbs (Mabwaith hen Gyrys o Ial), Beiau ac anafau cerdd dafod, Ymadrodd Selyf Ddoeth, Gorchestion Dafydd Nanmor, a list of the names of gods and goddesses, etc.

'Diddanwch Teuluaidd neu Lyfr o Gywyddau a Chaniadau Ysgrythyrol a Diddanol o Gyfansoddiad a Chasgliad Huw ap Huw o Lwydiarth Escob yn ynys Fon', being an incomplete manuscript of the poems of Hugh Hughes (Y Bardd Coch o Fôn, 1693-1776). It appears from the introduction, 'At y Darllenydd Hynaws', that this volume was prepared for publication, and it is interesting to find that some of the poems which were in this manuscript (see table on page 171) were published by Huw Jones of Llangwm (?1700-1782) in a volume of compositions by Anglesey poets which also bore the title Diddanwch Teuluaidd (1763), and which appeared during the life-time of Hugh Hughes. Lewis Morris read the manuscript and there are emendations in his hand in the margins. On the loose sheets in this volume is a portion of an elegy to Dr Edward Wynn of Bodewryd, which has been marked in such a way as to show it to be the manuscript used for the printed version of that poem in Diddanwch Teuluaidd (1763). That is the only portion of this manuscript containing poems printed in Diddanwch Teuluaidd which has been preserved. There is an incomplete copy on page 137 of Lewis Morris's cywydd relating how Dr Evans Llanerch-y-medd conquered death. Hugh Hughes undoubtedly introduced this as a prelude to his cywydd ateb which should follow. Lewis Morris has altered some words in this copy, and some of the emendations suggest that Hugh Hughes was writing from memory and not from a written version.

Latin idioms and phrases with their equivalents in English; a dictionary of classical proper names; and notes on Latin Grammar. Some of the lists of phrases were compiled in 1613, but the greater part of the manuscript is later. The following note occurs on the last folio: 'Watkin Kyffin is my name and with my pen I wroate the same, and if my pen [ha]d benne better I would amend it every letter witness to the same Edward Moris and Hughe Blodwell and more if needs be'.

The manuscript consists of a two act play which has no title; and fragments of other plays, together with a draft of a poster of a performance of 'Shakespeare's celebrated Tragedy, Pyramus & Thisbe' at the Wynnstay Theatre.
