Banknotes (three for £1 and two for £2) charged to the account of the Aberystwyth and Tregaron Bank [locally known as 'Banc y Ddafad Ddu']. These notes were exhibited in a commission of bankruptcy against John Evans, Joseph Jones, and William Davies, founders of the bank and members of the firm, a first dividend of 6s.8 in the £ being eventually paid. Attached is a slip of paper marked 'D 93. Thos Jones Sputty'. [The three £1 notes apparently belonged to Thos Jones and the two £2 notes to one George Matthews of Llwyn.].
