  • [c. 1250]-1976

This is a series of deeds and documents of all kinds, currently running from number 1 to 1961, which have come to the Library singly or in groups too small to be treated as archives or collections. Less than 1 per cent of the Department's holdings of deeds and documents is comprised in NLW Deeds; the remainder will be found among archives or collections. Nevertheless, NLW Deeds includes some valuable documents. Several series which had existed in parallel with NLW Deeds were closed in 1981: NLW Wills, NLW Manorial, NLW Miscellaneous Records and a series known as 'Miscellaneous Documents' which had been arranged by county. The first two series have now been subsumed in NLW Deeds.
