Letter from Leonard Courtney to A. J. Williams,
Part of A.J. Williams Papers,
Is much interested in A. J. Williams's letter but doubts whether it should be published. Believes the changes A. J. Williams advocates are too 'sweeping' and will frighten away practical politicians. Discusses details of the re-distribution of parliamentary constituencies and the principles of proportional representation.
Letter from Alfred Emmott to A. J. Williams,
Part of A.J. Williams Papers,
Has read A. J. Williams's draft bill. Is in favour of an elected Second Chamber, and believes the government should have adopted such a plan of reform. Discusses details of desirable reforms.

Will see Brynmor Jones soon after the Whitsuntide recess.
Letter from D. Brynmor Jones, 27 Bryanston Square, W, to A. J. Williams,
Part of A.J. Williams Papers,
Is writing to Ponsonby. Juniors to A. J. Williams have obtained baronetcies but contributed generously to party funds. A. J. Williams has a strong claim. The personnel of the Liberal Party has changed greatly - Campbell-Bannerman does not know his party as Harcourt did. A. J. Williams's name has certainly been considered.
Letter from George Whiteley, 12 Downing St., SW, to A. J. Williams,
Part of A.J. Williams Papers,
Will bear in mind the comments A. J. Williams makes in his letters. The decision to award honours is a thorny problem.
J. Herbert Lewis, 12 Downing St,
Part of A.J. Williams Papers,
A. J. Williams. Will bring A. J. Williams's claims to the notice of the Prime Minister through George Whiteley. Has been of assistance to Eliot Crawshay Williams today.
