The collection contains psalms numbered 1-150, with many omissions, and 443 hymns, of which 424 are numbered. The authors include Edmwnd Prys, Isaac Watts, John Hughes, Pontrobert, Richard Jones, Wern, Llanfrothen, William Williams, Pantycelyn, James Hughes, London, David Charles, Carmarthen, Edward Jones, Maes-y-plwm, David Thomas ('Dafydd Ddu Eryri'), Ann Griffiths, Thomas Charles, Bala, David Jones, Cynwyl Gaeo, Morgan Rhys, Llanfynydd, David Williams, Llandeilo-fach, Titus Lewis, Carmarthen, Evan Evans ('Ieuan Glan Geirionydd'), John Elias ('o Fôn'), John Roberts, Llangwm, Peter Jones ('Pedr Fardd'), William Edwards, Bala, John Thomas, Pentrefoelas, Morgan Llwyd ('o Wynedd'), John Williams, Pantycelyn, William Griffiths, Glandwr, William Jones, Bala, Roger Edwards, Mold, etc. There is at the beginning an incomplete subject index to the contents of the volume ('Dangoseg o'r Prif-faterion yn y Psalmau a'r Hymnau trwy y Llyfr') in the hand of the scribe. Many of the items are to be found in the collection published by the scribe under the title of Casgliad o Salmau a Hymnau ... (Caerlleon, 1829), but the manuscript bears a closer resemblance to other editions of 'Psalms and Hymns' of the first half of the nineteenth century, notably Morris Davies, Llanfyllin: Casgliad o Salmau a Hymnau ... (Bala, 1832).
