1 The Rt Hon. Other Archer, earl of Plymouth and baron of Windsor. 2 Christopher Pope of Bristol, esq. Abstract Of Lease for 50 years of mines of iron ore, coal, culm and limestone, etc., under 171 a. of land in p. Ruddry, co. Glam. Annual rent: 8d. per ton of iron ore, 5d. per ton of coal used for the purpose of conducting the said works and 1s. per ton for coal used for other purposes, 1s. per ton for fire clay, and 3d. per ton for limestone, and in case the said rent or garages shall not amount from 5 Jan. 1830 to the yearly sum of £133.2.0 to pay such further sums which would amount with the garages to £133. Superscribed: 'Confidential'.

Writing from Zurich, he makes observation on his tour of Switzerland, making references to the contemporary political scene in Europe with gossip about the European aristocracy, in particular about the amours of Madame de Raventlaw, who lived at Ratisbon; he was very much impressed with the philosopher Lavater, who lived in Switzerland; he regrets that people in England should concern themselves with reform at this time.
