Typescript drafts

The file contains typescript text of 'The Wall', noted in David Jones's hand on the wrapper as having been corrected 'up to date May 25 1957' (in a similar note at the head of the first page the date is given as 23 May 1957).

Proofs

The file contains a set of uncorrected incomplete proofs of 'The Wall' and 'The Hunt', dated by David Jones 'c. 1960 incorporating passages written earlier'.

Typescript etc.

The file contains an important typescript of 'The Dream of Private Clitus', showing corrections by David Jones which were the last of a long sequence of revisions and corrections, dated September 1963. The poem was published in March of the following year, and the text is the same in the version which appeared ten years later in the Sleeping Lord. There is also a letter from Sonia Brownell who typed for him in 1963, a manuscript page and a photostat.

The file contains a manuscript draft of an autobiographical piece, relating to David Jones's childhood beliefs, entitled 'Crucifixis etiam pro nobis: sub Pontio Pilatus passus', with also an inscription 'Bonum et ens convertuntur'.
