Plas Yolyn account book,

Plas Yolyn household, tax, tithe, succession and rent accounts, 1887-1908. Inserted items include an undated memorandum from J. Wilson, gamekeeper, to C. Morrall, esq., that he had given a warning to James Rice, labourer, Edward Jones, wheelwright, and George Richards and Thomas Morris of Ifton Heath, colliers, their dogs having chased a rabbit on Plas Warren land; and a poem, the 1909 defeat of England against Australia at cricket having been attributed to their senility, the team having had an average of thirty-four.

Guthrie school note book and cricket score cards,

Note's in a child's hand on the English constitution, based on Dicey's Law of the Constitution. From the rear of the volume are score cards for six innings of a cricket match, presumably England v. Australia, 1880s-1890s, with W. G. Grace and [R. S.] Lucas opening for one team (Grace and [Dick] Barlow for the third innings), and [Alick] Bannerman and [Percy] McDonnel for the other team. The first three pages (at least) have been torn out. Top edge inscribed 'M Guthrie Ilatian' [sic.], and inside front cover inscribed 'M L Guthrie, 22 Sep'r 1878'.

Mortgages,

Loose papers relating to mortgages, principally relating a mortgage by Rev. Cyrus Morrall to Edward Birch, esq, to secure £3,000 and interest, 1862, with a further charge of £200 in 1875, and a mortgage by Robert Morrall, esq., to Rev. George E. C. Casey to secure £2,200 and interest, 1871.

Recipe book,

Volume of recipes, plus a very few embrocations, polishes etc, including several inserted items. Spine stamped 'Recipes'. The only two dated items are for 1876 and 1887.

Rev. Cyrus Morrall's will,

Original bundle comprising Rev. Cyrus Morrall's will, 1874, and codicils and draft codicils, 1866, 1871, 1872, 1874, 1875 and 1881; draft transfer of a mortgage for £3000 etc., secured on property in p. Ellesmere, to which Rev. Cyrus Morrall was a party, 1875; and letters from Cyrus Morrall, his son, to Messrs Robinson, Preston & Stow about the terms of his father's will, 1881.

Mortgage of £2,200,

Original bundle of deeds relating to, among others, m's and lands called Chapel or Chapel House farm (57a.) and Kyah otherwise Caia (70a.), both t. Dudleston, p. Ellesmere, and the Rock otherwise Coed-yr-allt (28a.), p. St Martins, all co. Shrop., 1837-1838 and 1870-1871, and particulars of Chapel House and Kyah farms, part of the Plas Yolyn estate, considered by Cyrus Morrall as security for an advance of £2,200 and 4% in 1910. The original packet (discarded) was inscribed 'Stewart Landeman's trustees' and 'C. Morrall's £2,200 mortgage Plas Yolyn estate, Salop (paid off)'.

Liverpool mayoral dinners,

Photocopies from a volume intitled 'Geo. Drinkwater esq., mayor, 1829 & 30', listing the names of those who sat down to various mayoral dinners, including a dinner for the Duke of Wellington, sessions dinners, dinner parties in Rodney Street, and an election dinner. Several Morrall entries are highlighted. Also a covering letter, 2003.

Morrall account book,

Precis of the capital arrangements of Adam Lodge, Cyrus Morrall and Robert Greaves, in partnership as Robert Greaves & Co. of Liverpool, ropemakers, Aug. 1829 (Greaves contributing ropemaking machinery valued at £500, and Lodge and Morrall each contributing £500 in money) (pp. 1-2), and day book or journal, Sept. 1829-June 1830 (pp. 3-24). Followed by an account intitled 'Robert Morrall's cash account', Jan. 1858-Sept. 1870, plus a few entries, Oct. 1870-Aug. 1871. Spine labelled 'Day book'.

Guthrie visit to Paris, France,

Original bundle of papers relating to a visit to Paris, Jan.-March 1830, including a French passport for Charles Guthrie; prescriptions from J. P. Roberts, surgeon & apothecary to the British embassy, for Mr Guthrie and Miss E. Guthrie, 12 Rue Castiglione, Paris; receipts; and recipes (in French) for brioches, feuilletage, biscuits de savoie, caprices, and crême d'amande ou frangipanne. Also an estimate (1829 watermark) and calling cards for London shops, n.d.

Memorandum book,

Memoranda of properties including in Dudleston, Ifton Rhyn, Ifton Heath and Bronygarth, with field numbers referring to maps 2-4. The only dated item is a note of game killed in 1828. From the rear of the volume are pencil notes relating to a Jones family, 1553-1696.

Cyrus Morrall ocassional book,

Volume containing a copy of the Burlesque Oxford Prize Poem, subject 'Pompeii', by James White of Pembroke College, Jan. 1828, and other poems, pictures and extracts, the last dated item being March 1867. Flypage inscribed 'Cyrus Morrall, Brasenose College, Oxford, Jan'y 21st 1828'.

Personal expenditure account, in [Oxford?], Jan.-May 1826, Scotland, Nov. 1827-May 1828, and France and Paris, June 1828-April 1830. Front cover inscribed '1819, Insurance orders'; rear cover inscribed '1819, Orders for returns'. Inside front cover inscribed 'Rue Grenville St Honore, no. 44, Hotel de Mayence'.
