File of papers (letters, bills, answers, depositions, decrees, etc.) relating to several lawsuits: 1566: Hugh Lewes of Bodewred and Ellen his wife v. William Bould (m's in Treyrddolle); 1567: William Bould v. Hugh Lewes, Owen Lewes and Morgan Howell (kay rhose vawre); 1571: William Boulde and Richard Boulde v. Lewis Owen ap Mevrick; 1618: Edward Wynne v. Rees Bold (Melin Rhose Goch); 1619: Edward Wynne v. Gruffith ap Richard Owen (kefn y gwrysk); 1627 (c.): Rex v. Edward Wynne (Melin Rhose goch). An exemplification (dated 31 March 1590) of proceedings in the cause of William ap Richard, alias Bould v. Hugh Lewes and others, is used as a cover for the papers.

Aberystwyth (Vagwyren)

A feoffment by James Harry to Raignold Vaughan, 1614, of a burgage called Vagwyren lying between Heol y Bont and Maes Glas, and a subsequent deed of sale to Thomas Rees of Llanbadarn Fawr, 1627.

An interleaved copy with manuscript notes, index of cases and subjects, charge to a Grand Jury, 1625, and notes entitled 'By what names &c lands &c shall passe'. The title page is missing but it is either the 1602 or the 1609 edition.

Evan Lloyd's notebook.

A notebook kept by Evan Lloyd between 1626 and 1628, containing entries relating to the service of writs; memoranda; notes of leases granted by Edward Vaughan; memoranda of receipts and disbursements made for the writer's brother, Hugh Lloyd, and others; a list of bills of debt left with Mrs Vaughan of Glanyllyn, 14 March 1626/7; a note of cattle left by John Cadd' ap Evan Vaughan at Lloydiarth in the charge of Hugh ap Rees the Lady Vaughan's bailiff, 1625. A loose slip of paper contains a certificate by Gruff: Kyffin concerning an agreement between him and Rees ap Morgan and William ap William.

Title deeds for a moiety of Bulch Safn y Dunant in the township of Uwchygarreg in the parish of Machynlleth, comprising successive deeds of sale by John ap Hugh Davies of Machynlleth to John Owen, 1615, to David ap John Owen, 1616, and to Morgan Thomas Moris of Machynlleth, 1629.

Marriage settlements of John Vaughan of Caethle, son of Ales vch Edenevett, and Jane vch Edward Pryce of Cynfal, 1592; and of Jenkin Vaughan and Ann Anwyll, daughter of William Lewis Anwyll of Parke, 1629. The properties include Caethle, the capital messuage of Gwyddgwyon, the water mills of Caethle and Melin Gynok, the fulling mill of Tythyn y Pandy at Cynfal, Tythyn Mawr yn Aberdyfi, storehouses, lime kilns and an anchoring place between Aberdyfi and Penhelig, Treveddian Ucha, St Cadvan’s lands and numerous other (named) properties in Cefnrhos, Caethle, Bron-prys, Gwrych, Gwyddelfynydd and Botalog in the parish of Tywyn.

Tal-y-llyn (Ceiswyn)

Title deeds of houses and lands in the township of Ceiswyn and parish of Tal-y-llyn, 1580-1629. Two deeds concern the sale of Lloydiarth Ucha and Lloydiarth Issa by Rowland Pughe (Rowland ap John ap Hughe) of Gartheiniog, to Francis ap John ap Hughe, [1578]-1580, and the subsequent sale of Lloydiarth Issa by John Pughe to William Mirick, 1607. There is also a lease of Cwm y Gerwin by Rowland Pughe of Mathafarn, 1605; and two bonds (corresponding deeds are missing) involving Sir John Lloyd, 1613, 1629.
